EE: Whitney was fab tonight - it's time to utilise her more
Her sassy behaviour towards that officer made me realise how great a character Whitney could be with some attention given to her by the writers and producers. Hopefully Lee's depression storyline will be the making of her.

Her retort to that git was fabulous, I had a good long laugh. I like Whitney and Shona, god knows why DTC won't use her more.

I like how Whitney is always there for Lee and cares about him a lot. It's nice that Shona is getting more screen time and I feel that Whitney's character has matured a lot.

I agree - I've always liked Whitney and Shona but she seems a bit undervalued by DTC. Hopefully being part of the Carters is the key to getting her a good amount of screen time again.

Very Kat like tonight the way she spoke to that army guy
Defy needs to be used more like this instead of whinging and whinging |

Was a lovely reminder how much i miss never seeing her on screen and what an absolute bore her and Lee are. The remark she made was funny but it wasn't very Whitney at all. A total out of character moment.

I have always found Whitney to be a good character and I do think Shona is a capable actress when she gets the material. She was underused for a while, but at least she is now getting more air time.

Shona is a great actress and I love the character of Whitney but she really needs to sort her hair out

Sorry but although I think the actress is good I don't agree about tonight. She looked like she was dressed for a night out, - his senior officer was bang out of order but her reply was imo not appropriate, she knows the bloke is gunning for Lee why add fuel to the fire? She is Lee's girlfriend not his wife; I didn't think she came across as clever just goby.

Whilst i admire her for standing my her man, she really did the wrong thing. She basically told Somebody in a higher position than her boyfriend that he had talked about his job and superiors in a negative way which made this man's grudge against Lee even greater and slagging Whitney off gave him Ammo against Lee to wind him up.
If it had just been some random bloke, one of his mates, even a colleague in a civvy street job it would have been fine but the army isn't a 'normal' kob. A hierachy exists in a way there that Whitney clearly doesn't understand so she has actually ended up making Lee's position worse. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valour. |

I said this in another thread, but I think Lee's storyline is a good one so far and I'm glad we'll be seeing more of Whitney as a result. I think she and Lee make a good couple, and the actors seem to work well together.

I like the way they have matured Whitney. How she has got to her age without being lumbered with a kid is a miracle in EE but she has. Her comment about wanting what Mick and Linda have was lovely. Given the trauma she went through it would be good if EE could show someone coming through it and making a good life for herself. Contrast with Kat who has been so damaged it has messed up her adult life. I know I'm dreaming as EE won't want anyone having a good life. LOL.

A hierachy exists in a way there that Whitney clearly doesn't understand so she has actually ended up making Lee's position worse. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valour. As tempting as it would be to cut that officer down to size she's inflamed the fire and made a bad situation worse. I know she was defending her man but there's some situations in life where you don't interfere and you bite your tongue and this was one of them. She's also belittled Lee a bit because she's fighting his battles for him making him look a bit weak and his position is already precarious. But because she mouthed off (you can tell Bianca brought her up!) telling the Officer exactly what Lee had been saying about him she played into Lee's enemy's hands and he was then able to rile Lee into punching him (and was seen to do so by their superiors.) Lee could very well lose his job for this, the army is strict on order and doesn't take kindly to soldiers attacking higher ranks. I doubt very much that Lee is going to thank Whitney for this. It's scary that she has been in the show for 7 years now!
