I'm not sure you have to be homophobic to call a straight person gay when you're trying to upset them.
Yeah I think you've missed the other episodes........

If you don't think it's likely to upset them how on earth is that not homophobic?
Why would they be upset if they're not gay? What would that make them?

And if you thought that somebody was insecure about their sexuality so you suggested that they were gay to upset them why would that be homophobic in itself?

How can they possibly warn her for upsetting people when it was they themselves who gave her the task to upset people?

That really doesn't make sense at all. How is she supposed to upset people without upsetting them?
By keeping within the rules, of which she was informed before the show started.

She had no problems upsetting people for the previous week without getting warnings. She just needed to open her mouth and speak.

I'm sure farrahs other innuendos provide enough ammo really to see that being 'gay' seems to be used in a negative way particular during irrate instances.

Look - it's an absolute load of inane shoite when the producers get involved. We know this. They're morons and will go for the lowest common denominator all the time.

But let's step back a bit. They asked them to make them 'angry'. The main (only?) bone of contention between Farrah, Austin and James have been discussions about the Austin/James relationship. So that was where she was going to go. Farrah's fairly dim; to be fair. She's going to used the tried and trusted method of winding him up. And it worked.

Now to the response on here. There's something very disingenuous about it. James and Austin have been the fan favourites from Day One - LARGELY because of their homo-erotic relationship. To a certain extent - with no subtlety or intellect and shag all imagination - Farrah has been voicing the viewers thoughts on the subject of James and Austin.

Just watched it (I missed the first part of the show earlier) and found it unbelievable - Farrah should be kicked out for that imo.

Homophobic or not you can't say those things.

Yep, that was Channel 5 BB right there. They think arguements is all this show is supposed to be about, they are useless.
Unfortunately that's what so many of the viewers want. If anyone acts sensibly they are dismissed as boring

BB stoops to a new low
Amazing that they always seem to find a way to go closer and closer to Hell.

I am skeptical that they'll be censured for this either. They rarely seem to be.

To make sensitive people cry.

Big Brother on Channel 5, everyone!
Just what homophobic slurs did she use?

It was way over the top, but I thought it was hilarious. Guess you Brits can't take a bit of banter.

Better to be sensitive than insensitive.

I can safely say all the Brits in the house have behaved with the maturity and basic human decency that has been lacking in their American counterparts.
Oh my god.

The really sad thing is, I think you're totally serious.

Did you listen to the bunch of them slagging her off afterwards? Where'd that basic human decency go?

No, but she also used the words 'gay homo' and 'lesbian' as insults, in a manner suggesting that she sees homosexuality as a bad thing and something to take the mick out of.

In short she is a selfish, immature, borderline homophobic who is going to look back on this part of her life and regret it massively, when shes a penniless has-been that no one would touch with a barge Pole, let alone employ her.

The Brits LOVE banter, only giving and not taking though and only if it suits the mood..and their mum says it's ok, oh and all the other people on a DS forum say it's fab.

Whether Farrah is homophobic or not she was in her element with that task. Her and Austin were suppose to make them angry but she just has no bounds and did cross the line I feel reducing the women to tears was just mean. Farrah is an awful person and is the 2nd coming of Satan to the BB house and I don't enjoy watching the show because she makes it all about her. She needs to go but unfortunately she will be kept in over decent HM's.

I thought CBB was supposed to be entertaining trash television.

I was disgusted.
Never mind making the HMs angry.........I was furious.

That overstepped any shred of decency.
I know the viewer is well warned but that's not a good enough excuse for broadcasting that.

Big Brother doesn't seem to be able to distinguish the difference between upset or angry.

Farrah just upset everyone. I know Natasha said she was angry but you could see she was very upset.

Farrah relished that task a little too much.

Absolutely right. Farrah failed the task and reaffirmed what a vile person she is. That was horribly uncomfortable to watch.

If that tirade had happened without the guise of a task it would at they very least be a final warning. As the words used were all Farrah's choice (and her therapy!!), BB should have treated this nauseating episode in exactly the same way as any other similar outburst of venom.

They are far too sensitive to be honest. Especially gail. Its like she has no fight inside her whatsoever.
I think she's just had enough of the constant fighting arguing loudness and also stevie and chloes humping I don't blame her it must be awful to be in there putting up with all that crap 24/7

Send Helen in to sort farrah out
They'd do that - like they sent Bianca in to sort Helen out - and they'd get on like a house on fire.

What's more, if you were offended by being called gay when you aren't, wouldn't you be being homophobic yourself due to thinking that being seen to be gay is a bad thing?
The person calling another person gay doesn't necessarily have to be homophobic.

I'm sure if Farrah sat down and had a quiet talk - is that possible? - with Gail and Natasha and told them that she genuinely believed them to be gay they would not have been offended. It was the manner in which she expressed it, and the fact it was obviously meant as an insult, that was so disagreeable to them - I believe.

By the way I'm not saying anybody is being homophobic.

Daniel was mature and decent, as is scoop.

Now to the response on here. There's something very disingenuous about it. James and Austin have been the fan favourites from Day One - LARGELY because of their homo-erotic relationship. "Voicing the viewers thoughts"?! Only homophobic scum would concur with the filth that Farrah has been desperately trying to conceal since day one. Even with the muzzle taken off during the task, it's clear she was still trying to restrain herself. The sentiments she expressed were all VERY REAL. Anyone who's had to deal with this kind of homophobic vermin can smell them a mile away, and she reeks of it...

She might have been voicing your views but certainly not mine.

The root of the sentiments she expressed was that James and Austin are attracted to each other. THAT has been the subject of some considerable conversation on here since Day One. I've no interest in either of them because I find them both scheming and bitchy and unattractive. But a considerable section of their fanbase - whether willing to admit it or not - have been enjoying the Austin/James frisson. There have been copious posts on here that would confirm that.

and there is certainly no excuse for what she said. She is vile and disgusting and she revelled in it both during and after. I say good on BB for showing it because it just proved to many of us how truly nasty she really is.

I'm not sure I can keep on watching now if this is what the rest of it is going to be like.

I have also used the word VILE because that is what she is.
