Although I've never heard the phrase "pity pats"

We need the HM's who will fight for it, and not the Chris's of this world.

You can certainly tell that she's thinking of the game as if it's on American television.
She doesn't seem to understand that the housemates who bring a lot to the table are at the most risk of being evicted in British reality TV shows.

She actually does seem to think that being outspoken makes you somehow safer.

She was very lucky last night. But I'm glad that she survived the eviction as I quite like her.

Jenna's right, eff the non-entities. Speak up, you're an entertainment show on television, not church.

Americans play the game differently at home. Austin was telling some of the others after the eviction that saying things like 'I want to win' doesn't go down well in this country.

Maybe Jenna should do the maths and she will realise that the USA team are nominating each other .

She has no idea about this show. None of the U.S housemates have grasped that modesty is the key.

The UK doesn't like arrogance. Anyone who announces they want to win, invariably won't.

They're so clueless as to how this show works. It's a popularity contest and arrogance won't win them any votes.

There's no prize for winning, I doubt they care.

They do care. Daniel Baldwin mentioned wanting to win and now he's gone.

I can't remember if the other ones mentioned wanting to win but they're all certainly very competitive so it looks that way...

She's my favorite. She's giving the experience 110% of her energy and it's making great TV.

Wanting to win is not arrogance. Arrogance is arrogance. Many British contestants have had it in massive doses over the years. Similarly many of them have clearly WANTED to win very badly, but simply lied about that.

False modesty seems to go over big with TGBP, but it's worth noting that it only does in the final stages of the show. "Most boring" wins, but "most interesting" keeps people tuning in.

That's not true in a vote to evict. It's the housemates that people have strong opinions on who are least in danger of being evicted. But really, who cares who "wins?" For an American, "winning" the show doesn't garner them anything other than knowing they've won. Leave that for the sad Brits, who think they're going to garner "new" careers (like Bobby Davro) off the back of the show. The Americans are all just there to get paid

However, I'm sure she doesn't know "the game" either in British or American television. She comes from a reality background (as do several of them) but they're not really competition shows. Different thing altogether.

But ... you just go ahead and keep feeling your British superiority. You wear it so well.

Oh please. The UK loves people desperate to win. People like Rylan, Jim Davidson, and so on and so on. As long as they're either has-been "personalities" or no-talent freaks., it's all good with the GBP.

IMO, they talk like they've got it in the bag.

When they say they're here to win they don't do themselves any favours. It is certainly over confident to say the least.

Jenna wants to win so badly but she's more likable than similarly arrogant, hyper-vigilant people like Michelle Visage.

Do you think when players go out onto the pitch, aiming to win the game, they're being arrogant? Going into a game to win isn't arrogance. It's competitiveness. I understand that Brits have problem with that. They seem to only like people who really want to win, but say and act like they don't want to win.

Saying they've got it in the bag, well, that would be talking like they've got it in the bag.

Yes I and a lot of the viewers prefer the modest, self-effacing types.

Maybe you ought to stick to the Bake-off, then.

Clearly I don't need to. I've probably been watching the show a lot longer than you.

And most of the time I'm quite happy with the winners that the public chooses.

But clearly I'm more in touch with how the public think, because they tend to evict the same types that I would.

Where as the arrogant types you favour won't get very far in this show.

Where the hell do you think you get off telling me what I favor and don't? You don't know me, what I think, who I "favour."

How bloody arrogant!
