People forget that apart from a few dodgy decisions 20 years ago, he is actually a decent guy

Ok, I saw him being very patronising and insincere and trotting out all his Diana Spncer stories and I find him nauseating.

This always happens.

He was amusing to watch on I'm a celeb but not likeable,

I don't think he's decent, I think he's very deceitful and a user.

I don't know what to make of him. He's so ingratiating that it can seem equal parts sweet and smarmy.

Maybe that's what a lifetime of grovelling servitude to a bunch of obscenely-priviliged and entitled people does to you. Or maybe you need to be that way inclined to do it in the first place.
