Again it's about team. He's supposed to be on the American team but he wasn't supporting the American team.
I see it like this. BB told the American's it's a US vs UK contest. The American's are taking their brief seriously, because they see BB as a job that they're being highly paid for. It's not a holiday or an experience it's a job.
