USB music playback . . .
I have music on a USB stick and, although it plays each track back-to-back continuously, when I put it in my computer or Internet radio (Roberts 83i) it only plays one track at a time and I have to start each one individually.
Does anyone know why that happens? I just want to be able to play it back on my Roberts 83i the same way it does in my car. |

The playback is controlled by the player not the stick.
On the PC you should be able to use WMP to do this - in its simplest form highlight the tracks you want to play with your mouse - then right click to launch WMP |

I had the same problem with mp3s on my Sandisk Player and adding a playlist to the folder fixed this.
I just tried a folder of mp3s on a Roberts 93i and was pleasantly surprised when it played the next track in the list without prompting. Now looking closer at the folder contents it turns out there was already an m3u playlist file there which probably explains it. I have AutoM3U installed on this PC which makes it very easy to create and add a playlist to any folder of mp3 tracks. Highly recommended. https://efotinis.neocities.org/autom3u/index.html |

I have a Roberts 93i (not that different from an 83i) which continuously plays large numbers of mp3 files in a folder (album) on a USB stick w/o any playlist. On the 93i you can add a playlist if you want and choose to play either by folder or by playlist. I doubt the OP's problem is related to the lack of a playlist.
He doesn't specifically mention if his single track stops when done or repeats itself. If the latter that is a feature on the 93i which you can change. Or, if by any chance he has placed each file in a separate folder the Roberts only gives continuous play for the files in a single folder (unless you use a playlist). His car radio may play all folders on the stick in sequence. Last edited by misar : 05-09-2015 at 22:09. Reason: Edit |

Thanks for clearing that up misar. Up to now I'd never use our radio with a usb stick but that's worth knowing.

It was a problem on the cheaper car stereos I had where all that would happen is you'd get a load of MP3's identified by numbers into the hundreds (presumably 999 on any one USB stick was the max!) and no folder access where as now on a Kenwood stereo it can identify folders and scroll through them.
