I cannot stress how many times I hear a misheard lyric and think it's something else. I find myself googling it to confirm if I was right.

For example in Years & Years' song Shine, I thought:

"I was biting my tongue, I was trying to hide,"

was "I was biding my time, I was trying to hide,"

My misheard lyrics probably suit the song more!

When Blue released "too Close" I always thought Lee Ryan sang

The way that you shake it for me, makes me want to sort that, sexually

when it's really

makes me want you so bad sexually

I always laugh when I hear it now, thinking about him wanting to sort something out sexually

I have no idea why but for many many years, I believed Sharleen Spiteri was singing:

"I'm not eating mincemeat, some things you just can't ignore"

in the Texas song 'Once In A Lifetime' instead of:

"I'll never be in between, some things you just can't ignore"

I thought it was a really odd stand to make in a song.

I keep hearing the lyric as I've got a fine tooth and I'm ready for the weekend!

A controversial one is in David Bowie's Ashes to Ashes. I think "But no smoking pistol" sounds like "But no smoking p***ed off"!

Also, in Michael Jackson's Off the Wall, "Better do it now before you get too old" sounds like "Better do it now before you get divorced"!

My daughter when she was very young thought that 'Don't cry for me Argentina' was 'Don't cry for me aunty Tina'

He's the Greatest Dancer by Sister Sledge

sounds like to me

"He looks like a spiv, that man is dressed to kid"

Is really

"He looks like a still, that man is dressed to kill"

Well that's what the lyric finders on the net say, still not convinced, as another line from the same song seems to be disputed between some sites:

Some of them say
"And a face that would make any man cry"
and others say
"And a face that would make him very proud"

Sounds like the latter to me.

I'm confused with that one too. It would make sense to be a Starbucks reference as I read somewhere once that she always has one of their lattes every day. She's a big fan.

That said "ex lovers" would fit more with the rest of the song. It's about tabloid rumours anyway and according to them she has dated everybody, though I'm sure that it's not true

In Atomic Kitten's "It's Ok", I've often wondered who this "Anna" is?!
"It's ok, Anna. It's alright, Anna..."

From Anna to Anne, and in Sheryl Crow's Every Day Is a Winding Road, she sings "I've been living in a sea of Anne R Key". To this day I still don't know who Anne R Key is! I don't know what the R stands for either!

I predict a riot

being heard as

I predict tourettes

It doesn't seem likely when read but if you listen to the song then read those lyrics it kina fits

I've heard this misheard lyric before and it always makes me laugh

In the Ed Sheeran song 'Bloodstream' I hear it as 'Butt string.'
So basically thought he was singing 'I feel the chemicals burn in my butt string.'
