Was I the only one who I couldn't hear what half of them said most of the time?

Loud and clear for me, but I wear wireless headphones so rarely miss a thng.

I think that has always been the case on HD.

I watched on HD and it was perfect.

Maybe some peoples TVs?

I noticed it too (not watching in HD). Sound kept dipping although I could still hear what was going on.

I found Claudia quite muffled and had to keep turning volume up and down. Really enjoyed the show though.

Not just me then - I thought my ears were playing up!

It sounded okay to me!.... well as okay as all the programmes regarding sound are nowadays!...... I usually have the sub titles on!.......

Sounded fine for me - didn't notice any glitches or problems.

I had to reset my sound - couldn't hear their voices.

I recorded the show in HD and watched it later through the hi-fi with headphones. I have about 40% hearing loss (common for my age, I'm over 60) and often have difficulty with some TV dramas, but Strictly came across loud and clear .. no peaks or troughs as others seem to have experienced.

Modern flat screen smart TVs don't always have the best sound reproduction. The answer of course is a sound bar, but not everyone wants to have that extra clobber in their TV/Hi-Fi corner!

BIB, I have one and both my wife and I struggled with the sound. We put it down to the lack of experience in the modern BBC sound department, and don't get me started on the atrocious direction and use of cameras.

I said the same, we thought the sound kept dipping too, especially at the start.

I can't say I noticed any issues with the sound but my goodness I was reminded about the woeful camera work.
