I personally thought that Helen, Jamelia and Peter stood out as the strongest dancers (Katie and Kellie surprised me too!), while Daniel and Jeremy... just no.

What were your thoughts?

They all looked excellent but Jay had serious nerves issue and may get the Pendleton award on the live show.

Peter was miles better then everyone else I thought. Kellie, Anthony, Jay and Jamelia were all very good as well.

Katie wasn't bad, but she was a little bit out of time in one section. I'll have to watch it back later to see how everyone else fared!

Enjoyed that - a real extravaganza! Katy Derham and Peter Andre looked like they could be natural dancers, and look forward to seeing more of them. I think possibly Daniel and Jeremy might unfortunately be due for a spot of Craig annihilation!

Kellie looked to be one of the best. I think she could easily make the final.

Peter Andre was stand out good . Iwan was keen but just a bit less polished . I thought Georgia looked stiff from nerves, as did Jay , but hopefully they'll get the better of the nerves .
Ainsley looked clumpy from the waist up . Seemed focused on feet only .Needs to get working on lowering those shoulders before he gets a waltz .

I agree. The pairing with Kevin will work well for her.

Sad person that I am I've watched the group dance 4 times! Jamelia was OK as well. I think Tristram is a good partner as he seems a placid sort of guy.

Kellie looked the best; really threw herself into it. The worst ? Hmmm.... better not say...

I've been watching the dance over and over to analyse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3CEn92Gx-4

The ladies -
1. Helen George
2. Jamelia
3. Kellie Bright
4. Katie Derham

I think Helen and Jamelia are both very adept at this, both though in different ways. Jamelia was right on the beat and lots of Latin heat, whereas Helen has that graceful, elegant way of dancing her Latin - very ballet. Katie and Kellie really surprise - both are wonderful and were right on the money all the way through!

5. Georgia May Foote
6. Anita Rani
7. Kirsty Gallacher
8. Carol Kirkwood

Now to the other four. Georgia and Anita both danced alright, however a lot of tentativeness I spotted and a lack of enthusiasm - both could struggle. Kirsty missed a step or two and reminds me a bit of Victoria Pendleton. As for Carol, and I LOVE Carol, she has a lot of work to do. Odd because in her Let's Dance skits (with Hollins and the Rocky Horror one) she seemed quite alright? I hope she can improve, but definitely the bottom of the pile at this point.

And for the gentlemen - please see the YouTube clip, go to 00:59 and watch Peter on the far left, licking his lips like an idiot hahahaha!

1. Ainsley Harriott
2. Peter Andre
3. Jay McGuiness

As for the men, I tell you what, if you focus in on Ainsley throughout, he has got some moves - really impressed. Look out for him throughout the clip! Peter and Jay both were singled out for the part midway through and seem to both have potential, although Jay did seem stiff in parts.

4. Anthony Ogogo
5. Daniel O'Donnell
6. Iwan Thomas
7. Jeremy Vine

Anthony has some rhythm, but still falls into the lower pack for me. Daniel actually isn't too bad, if you look out for him throughout he actually has some ability, however both he and Iwan seemed over-excited in parts. Iwan, crikey, he was jumping around like a looney in bits...oh dear. And Jeremy, well he has potential, but definitely didn't show it in parts.

For me overall: Kirsty, Carol, Jeremy, Daniel and Iwan were the lacklustre in this dance. But still - all can improve over the three weeks!

Kellie, Helen, Jamelia, Katie, and Peter were the stand outs for me. Shame that Carol and Jeremy seem to be duffers, as I absolutely love them both!

Not easy to judge with everything going on and camera switching quickly in different angles and so many people around.

"Roll eyes"

But Jeremy surprised me with one move, and I think Peter might be really good.

I tend to go back, watch over the clip several times, focus on particular celebrities each time and stop and go to see their rhythm and movement, so it is possible to get a fairly good gauge of their CURRENT abilities from this, actually

Well Ola always looks a cracker although a bit spotty today. Aliona should have been fabulous but her hair looked like a wig and it exaggerates her features so Oti looked more fabulous.
You meant the celebrity dancers?
Uh-huh.

This year I was really struggling to concentrate on one celeb during the dance. They kept changing the camera angles every five seconds.

Carol looked the worse from what I saw.

Georgia does look a bit shy to be honest, I think giovanni is more keen on her than what she is on him. Having said that I still expect her to do well, question is how well? The advantage with her is her fanbase from corrie. 😊

What stood out for me is Jamelia can already do more than just dance the steps. She can add the little nuances to her steps that make her look really good. On the other hand Helen's dancing was very clean and I can see her struggling to get down and dirty with some of Latin. A bit like Ali Bastion. Bruno will have a field day.

Peter is the stand out male, but there's at least three (Iwan, Antony and Jay) with the potential to be his competition. Peter is going to start strong, but pack could catch up with him.

Probably the best first group dance we've seen.

It was so hard to really call out anyone who was bad cause they were all fairly ok.

I know not everyone will agree, but I love the fact there's no obvious comedy celeb, and that even at this early stage it looks like we've got more than a few contenders.

I agree, it was nice that none of them were really bad. I thought Peter, Jamelia and Katie were the stand outs but I have to say although it may go against the grain that I liked Jeremy I think he may last longer than some think. It is hard to tell from the group dances I have watched it over a few times but had to stop as I was starting to get dizzy

There was lots of average in the group dance, which might be good as improvements will come. Peter was obviously, and sadly, the best. Katie seemed to do well in parts, Kellie was surprising and Helen and Jamelia seemed good. Georgia and Jay seemed quite clinky and Iwan was over doing it with no rhythm. I think Ainsley thinks he is better than he is, he seemed to be pulling a face like "I've got this I'm great". Jeremy and Daniel were awful and I think Daniel will be the worst but his fans will vote meaning Jeremy goes first.

The others I can't say I noticed that much!
