When did that ever happen?

Well, perhaps I should have said they put on a good pretence of being surprised. They had me fooled sometimes anyway. But not any more, it's just too blatantly a set-up.

For me it was since the second series I noticed the fakeness but it became really blatant, in my opinion, from 2009. These last couple of series have had ridiculously-obvious scripted moments.

Her voice was great and I loved her, but yes, the whole set-up thing was laughable.

Did the same. I would have said no just based on her attitude. The dancing, if that's what you call it, was just embarassingly bad.

I'll be pretty pissed she got in and Jennifer didn't. ..

She is one of the few decent acts so far for me.

if she has such a good voice and is a good performer why did she have to act like an angry granny giving someone a lapdance ?

surely if your voice is good enough thats all you need to get noticed without all the cringy gimmicks ?

I wont disagree with you, but the gimmicks are down to the producers and not to her. As you know the contestants have little input as to what they do on this show.

you know even if they did she could say no and want to impress based purely on her voice alone

Yes, she could have said no if they asked her to do that routine, and in doing so would have probably ended any chance that she had of them putting her through.

i just find it a little strange jeref that when an act you like turns themselves into a joke act for the sake of a chance of their 15 minutes of fame thats all good but when another act does the same thing they get slated for it

surely its either no joke acts as it demeans the show or anything goes

Harsh - I know, she just makes me cringe with her over the top not needed performances and to get through over 3 talented girls is a travesty. Not to mention she only got through because she looks like Sinitta - clearly.

I mean she definitely gives it her all, but she's still just not a good enough singer or performer to be honest. It's not even the live shows yet, and I think she's already given all she has to offer the competition.

The nasty thing is a bit jarring to me as well since she actually just seems like a perfectly normal pleasant person. Why is Simon trying to make that a thing? It's really not a thing.
