He danced the Samba, Rumba and Salsa in 2010 with Ann - amazing that was 5 years ago! But yes a Jive is definitely overdue from him. Also I don't think that he's ever danced the Argentine Tango?

I think they could do well, but I am not sure if they can win.
The public vote might keep them safe, but it will be vital for them to avoid the dance off the closer they get to the final. At a certain point of the series, the first time they are in the dance off they will be out. |

Could anton get to at least the Semi's if the final with Katie, does have at las the chance of winning, i do think Katie maybe the one to do well with him than previous years
![]() ![]() Have the producer's got it right with his Partner, and does Anton think he has A chance than any other year since Lesley Garratt in the first season, i do think Katie will this to Anton is tell her because some of the other partners he has had done the year appear to do there own thing ![]() As I have said before, Anton is a winner every year, he is the heart and soul of Strictly Come Dancing. |

I have always thought that the dance off should be scrapped, without it Anton would have the public vote behind him all the way. |

I'd love Anton to win. I don't think he will though, because of his weak Latin, but at least he has a decent partner this year.
I remember Katie taking part in the Maestro programme a few years ago. Despite trying really hard, she had a very harsh tutor who reduced her to tears. Anton is the complete opposite. He seems to be an understanding and patient teacher. I think they'll get on well. |

In previous years, I think it's been Anton's comedy choreography, or rapport with his partner that's kept him in.
Personally, I'm already finding Katie's gurning irritating, and apart from being saved a couple of times by the judges, I can see them going out early. |

He'll only have a chance if he gets help for his Latin choreography, which is very simple and the same every year AND if he takes the Latin seriously and puts his heart into it.
He can't do the comedy bit this year, so his actual dancing/choreography will be more under the spotlight... |

Feel so sorry for Katie. She is doomed with this mugging, gurning, irritating, self obsessed buffoon !

I'm interested to see how he gets on with someone who appears to have some potential and given that the pros seem to do less and less of the choreography nowadays, maybe that could work to his advantage.

Don't think Anton will win but I think he has his best partner ever in Katie Derham and I think they'll do very well in ballroom and could go a long way. The latin dances could be their weakness though.

He's had many, many years when all he has had to do was come up with routines that hide his partner's imperfections (of which there have been sooooo many!), or a straight up comedy skit. This year I think he actually has to do some proper dancing work with Katie as she seems to have the ability. Let's hope he can remember how, because I would hate to see this opportunity for him go to waste! I'd like to see them get to Blackpool at least.

I think we've got it backwards. I think it's more likely that the pairing has happened because Katie is unexpectedly dreadful, not because it's time to give Anton a chance.
Im happy to be proven wrong but the producers must know that anyone paired with Anton is a write-off at this point, it's far too late. |

No Anton will not win but I think he will get past the first few rounds just like last year.

No, his time has long passed.
The last time he had a good partner, he decided to make a racist joke which blew him out of the water. You could tell she did not want to dance with him any more and got booted. |

Correct me if I'm super wrong, but Katie looked quite natural in the Party latin group dance; I mean, they put her front and centre at the end, so she can't be too bad, and her footwork looked solid. Plus, she seems to be a natural performer.
I wouldn't 100% rule out Katie & Anton in the final 4 (or even final 3), if he gets choreographers in for the party Latins... Oh, and because I'm intent on making it a thing, #YearOfTheAnton

Yes, in the same way the pope smuggles into the amazon to lay his number twos, and a bear wears silly hats in the vatican.
