Does Anton have Chance of winning this year?

I don't think so. Anton's ballroom is wonderful to watch but his Latin lets him down. In the past he's had more than capable dancers, (I think he's very lucky to have Katie this year. A decent partner), but he's failed to deliver on the Latin routines.

I truly can't see him winning , but if Katie is a belter then they could do rather well .
His latin has been OK, but just OK . However maybe , just maybe, this past few years will have given him the extra oomph he needs in latin and this year he might nail it . I'd love to see him doing really well and Katie looks like she's up for the challenge if the group dance is anything to go by .

I wonder whether this is Anton's last year. Moving on to become a judge? Give him someone decent for his last hurrah?

That's my theory too, as Katie is definitely his best ever partner for the Latin; if her Ballroom's up to par, she could be a potential quarter-finalist at least.

Could be . I also think he'd be a great presenter to follow on in Brucie's footsteps .

I hope so, and as Len is no longer commuting to the U.S. for their Autumn series, there could be a vacancy there next year.

Such an interesting point. As is the assumption made by so many that she'll be a good dancer. Why?

Hopefully he'll move on to stand for parliament representing UKIP.

He will never win strictly because he doesn't know how to teach someone to dance. All he's interested in is his own self promotion.

Anton is without a shadow of doubt Sir Bruces natural successor once the public tire of the gaggle of gushy girls trying to run things during this Strictly beige faze.

He is isn't he ? He has the humour and the grace to carry it off really well .
The girls are lovely but they just feel like temps holding the fort .

I agree Heatherbell, Anton would bring the humour and grace to Strictly Come Dancing that is sadly missing at the moment, as you say the girls are indeed lovely, but having to listen to

" Oh I say "

repeatedly on a Saturday night when we want to be entertained is a catch phrase thats bound to have a very short shelf life.

"Temps holding the fort" is a very apt description, they seem like the warm up act before the star takes to the stage, and Antons star is bound to shine high and bright when his time comes to wear Sir Bruces crown.

Katie takes her work seriously, she's a perfectionist . I bet she would much rather have any of the other pros teaching her .

If I were a PTB (power that bes? power that's being?), I'd bring in another teacher for the Latin.

There is absolutely no need for this, Anton has an excellent reputation as a dance teacher, his dancing skills are very wide ranging.

I'm sure you are right but his own latin skills are lacking in comparison to the other pro dancers (IMHO) which therefore puts Katie at a disadvantage.

All the other male dancers, not one in particular. No fault with Anton's ballroom dancing at all but the latin ... uh oh.

I will check this out Lou, but its not something that I have noticed before when watching Anton on Strictly.

I've heard Claudia called many things but GUSHY

The show is so much better without Brucie and Anton would be put to better use as a Judge.

Time for the Thesaurus Terry. What exactly do you mean by wide ranging, because party Latin and Rumba are not Anton's greatest dances.

Nothing personal but a small injury to Anton half way through the series might not go amiss, after all the old boys joints must be creaking an bit, then Katie can have a better pro to get her to the final.

Anton is unlikely to get injured, he looks super lean and super fit.

I don't know if that is true or not. I did read another poster say that Katie said she wanted to dance with Anton if she did Strictly, I think the quote was from 2011 (unless I dreamt it).

She also said she was looking forward to dancing the Samba, which should be.....interesting.
