Tall Paul

Hey up guys and girls, wondering who has the most twitter followers and fb likes out of scd combined this year? As that can determine vote patterns and that....well I believe it can anyway. 😊

I know you're probably talking about the celebrities but I happened to notice this tweet by James Jordan tonight:

James Jordan ‏@The_JamesJordan

Jay and Aliona

He seems lovely.... And wow Aliona just went up by 80,000 followers on Twitter

It's almost like she bought them

Peter has 3.3 million Twitter followers and Janette has 50.7k.

Would love it if someone posted a list of how much social media mentions each celeb is getting, with whether their trending in a good way or bad way, a full list of twitter followers and fb likes too please. By the way guys cheers for the info.

I don't see why the amount of twitter followers and Facebook likes should matter, but I accept may be in the minority there. I'm not a huge fan if social media and think if not all of the pros and their partners are as all over the sites as some of the others, THAT'S OK.

Mark Wright had over a million Twitter followers more than everyone else and was persistently one of the most unpopular celebrities last year.

It will probably say very little, but still interesting to see the evolution in followers during the show (rather then the current amount; mostly not gained through Strictly).

Not at all interested in facebook, but these are the current standing on twitter followers (excluding Daniel and Ainsley; who don't have an active twitter that I could find):

1. Peter - 3.390.518
2. Jay - 892.479
3. Jeremy - 367.806
4. Kirsty - 333.127
5. Georgia - 268.008
6. Iwan - 102.740
7. Carol - 84.366
8. Anthony - 79.450
9. Jamelia - 36.670
10. Anita - 31.157
11. Kellie - 17.940
12. Helen 16.773
13. Katie - 9.158

Peter has 370 times the number of followers Katie does...

...still predicting Peter'll come 4th, though, just like Mark.

I don't think social media is too relevant though . Not everyone who follows a person will vote for them . The only time it matters is if a huge scandal breaks and even then it would need to be really bad stuff to affect voting or judging .

No, nor do I.
As has been said, Mark Wright had a huge number of Twitter followers and it didn't help him much.
People do realise that Twitter followers can be bought don't they? Just because someone's account says they have x million followers doesn't mean that all of them will bother to phone in a vote for a TV programme. Especially if those x million followers aren't actually real.

Interesting article on Daniel's fans travelling to vote

I wonder if there ahs been a surge of Northern Irelan Internet companies getting requests from older ladies in the south to switch ??

The Republic of Ireland fans could never vote, so not sure why Hannah Furness is making a big deal of it.

I've seen more attractive potatoes than him. And, from the look of him, so has he.

Some people follow others on Twitter because they don't like them. Others because they like someone that is connected to that person. So the number of followers shouldn't affect the voting too much, plus lots of elderly voters don't follow Twitter at all.

Profile bots can be bought in the thousands so it's no indicator as to popularity. Katie Derham doesn't need millions of Twitter followers to make sure she keeps her job at the Proms so I'd hazard a guess that her 9.1k followers are all real.
