No offence intended to Caroline's many fans, but apart from the few non-technical dances, I didn't think Caroline well danced throughout the whole of last year's series (her ballroom was awful) so I wasn't surprised to see a second-rate effort from her last night.

I used her dance moment as an opportunity for a toilet break. I was most underwhelmed by her as a winner last year and had no desire to watch her again.

It was pretty bad. She was incredibly stiff. Wouldn't have got higher than a seven from any of the judges if they'd been marking it.

People had rose-tinted specs on about her performances last year. I cannot understand it when the evidence is out there on YouTube.

She was bad. No way did she look like a winner.

Awful. Not the dance to do if you haven't had the training and your fitness levels are way down.

I agree wholeheartedly with the BIB but, I was expecting a lot more from a champion especially as it is less than a year since she won.

At least Caroline called SCD the No1 Entertainment show, that would have pleased her new boss.

Let's not forget she hasn't danced for NINE MONTHS. Give the girl a break, Jesus.

Is he knew she was going to appear on the biggest show on telly, as the reigning champion she should have put the work in or not danced at all. She was terrible.

To be fair, she was instagraming right at the beginning of August that she was rehearsing with Pasha so, unless that was the only rehearsing she did, she did put some work in well before the show was filmed.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are still bitter that she won and our taking this opportunity to take some digs at her.

At least this dance goes to show that she wasn't this big ringer that people were complaining about during the final. Caroline had to work hard to become the winner.

Well that perplexes me even more, if she rehearsed since the beginning of August...that was a really poor show. I don't mind Caroline or Pasha but I was embarrassed for their performance, particularly her. It wasn't good. In fact having rewatched it this afternoon, it was downright awful.

She wasn't at her best , but that's how it goes when you don't keep up training I suppose . Plus she has other commitments .

Here. here! Agree with everything you've said. All the poor losers from last year are relishing sticking the knife in.
She won, she deserved to win. Get over it people!

Please back up your risable statement with actual fact.

Have a bit of respect please. Some of us who have commented on her dreadful performance were fans last year and have no other agendas or "knives to stick".

We are, at least I am, commenting on her performance last night

It was shockingly bad and if she knew she was going to be featured as the reigning champion, the least she could have done is put the work in & not make an absolute show of herself & her partner.

It was dire, and even her most die hard fans should have the decency and honesty to admit that. Nothing personal about the girl, her dancing was not good.

So much for all that previous dance experience that gave her an unfair advantage last year

Was she good last night? No. But that was lack of practice. Simple as that.
What annoys me is that many of those who took great delight last year in claiming she was a ringer who shouldn't have won because of her "extensive dance experience" are also sticking the knife in when it should be pretty obvious from her performance last night that her performances last year were due to hard work and practice.

It wasnt great and it could be lack of rehearsal or could be that she practised very hard, and in rehearsal was much better but on the night had a brain fart/nerve attack and it went wrong.

It happens on this show all the time.

Anyway now for the new contestants...

Why on earth go on the opening of such a massively , much anticipated popular show with lack of practise.

It was tremendoulsy unprofessional and made her look absoultely dreadful. She was downright awful. I'm sure Pasha wasn't best pleased either.

Oh and please, enough with the "Sticking the knives" remarks, totally OTT and really unnecessary.

On the bright side, she was marginally less awful than Lisa Snowdon when she came back the year after robbing Austin Healy - the carnage begins at about 1:20

Time has been much kinder to Rachel Stevens, who dances better each year, even when drafted in at the last minute.

Nothing special, very tentative, probably did not have time for anything more.
