Moments like that are better than all the arguments. Gail was genuinely touched.

Isn't he just. Safe in the knowledge that his hair will grow back in a few weeks. I wonder how noble he would have been if it had been the case of........'you know if you shave your hair off, it will never grow back'. Bet he wouldn't have been too keen then.

His hair will grow back, Gail does have some hair growth, you can see it's very blonde/white, but I think hers grows back very patchy.

totally agree. Gail's lovely, and for Austin to bring her some genuine attention was kind of him.

Absolutely; if there was more of this on BB that would make such a good difference.

I felt he was genuine, and Gail wouldn't have been so moved unless he was. And he brought everyone together. Really nice.

Really Do you think

Of course he wouldn't agree to make himself permanently bald. It was just a gesture. What a ridiculous criticism.

How so? It was a lame attempt on his part to get attention and possibly less noms. (Although he doesn't know it's only the UK housemates that can be nominated this time around).

You may think it's ridiculous, I simply think he did it to get attention for himself.

I don't expect anyone to agree with that of course, but imo I think it was done more for his benefit than Gails.

I don't think it's ridiculous to suggest he did it for attention. I think it's ridiculous to criticise him because his hair will grow back and to suggest he wouldn't do it if he knew his hair would never grow back which is what you said. Of course he wouldn't do it if his hair would never grow back. It was a gesture that is all.

IMO an empty gesture for attention.

It's tantamount to me sitting next to someone that is starving and saying I'll go without food for 12hrs in support of you, knowing full well I can stuff myself silly when I get home.

He won't experience what it's like to have no hair in the same manner that Gail has had to go through with the teasing and not being accepted etc. No one is going to tease him in the house are they?

When he comes out of the house it will most likely be 'that was a kind thing to do' etc and he'll probably go 'gee shucks, it was nothing.' Which IMO that's just what it was nothing, aside from possibly to garner a bit of favouritism.

Obviously you have your opinion, which I respect. I'm just voicing mine.

Oh for goodness sake , could he be any more of a crawler . He gives me the boke .
He's aggressive and sly and for sure the worst bitch in there .He nags and stirs and creates trouble , but oh look he has shaved his head 'for Gail'.
Gimme a break . Gail's issue is Alopecia and while it's a horrible nasty thing to have, it isn't life threatening and she has stated her preference to wear her baldness with pride rather than use wigs. She doesn't need solidarity, she needs them to just be aware of her issues and allow her to skivvy in peace to keep her on an even keel , NOT jump on her bandwagon using her issue for air time .

So you think all gestures by all people at all times are useless and empty. It's not unusual for friends and family members of people losing their hair through cancer treatment EG to shave their hair off in solidarity and as a gesture. Do you see that as empty also? I'm assuming not.

You don't like Austin and believe him an attention seeker. I understand that and I understand that criticism but the idea of criticising the act of shaving off hair as a gesture towards solidarity is an unfair and rather daft criticism to me.

By the way I am not comparing Gail's position to cancer patients unlike Burnside and Janice Or am I comparing Austin to a family member etc of a cancer patient before I'm crucified on here. I just think criticisng Austin for doing this because he knows his hair will grow back and saying he wouldn't do it if his hair wasn't to grow back is silly, not least because it's obvious It's a gesture.

I'll simply comment on the BIB. I'm not heartless trevor. But just a small point I'd like to make. Are those people on national TV hoping to win a reality show and are looking for votes? No, I don't suppose they are. Am I cynical, yep I sure am with regards to the gesture Austin made.

Also family members who support another family member usually care and love the person they are supporting.

Do you think Austin has any real love and sincerity for Gail? I personally don't think so.

BTW I don't really care for ANY of the housemates this series. Austin isn't being singled out.

I just thought your intial post was unfair as no one does this gesture without the knowledge that their hair would grow back. However, it is of course possible that Austin is doing it for the rewards he may think he will get from it.

I like Austin a lot but am also cynical enough to realise the end game might be driving him. However I actually do think this gesture was genuine

And I respect that you think his gesture was genuine.

We will all have differing opinions on anything any housemate does or says.

We can however I'm sure, agree to disagree on this one
