The ratings are poor , the theme is a bit of a turkey, yet they still persist with a summer cbb.

Regular BB is back to its proper length, the length it had when it was most successful.

I disagree dodge one just gone was the shortest since bb2, 13 week series were getting 4.5 million viewers

Despite me enjoying this series a lot, I agree. After regular BB (especially series considered bad, like BB15 and BB16 were considered), it's not recommended to have a series after it. People watched 9 weeks of manipulation, it's no surprise people didn't want to watch CBB even though the reception seems to be positive.

The ratings are poor, but they are consistent and after launch, the ratings have actually stayed pretty much the same, in fact Friday's eviction looks to have been the highest since launch. So yes, the ratings are poor but the consistency means people are enjoying/

So if there was a series like this in January, it'd be a success and pulling the mid 2m for sure.

It's a shame, I've always thought it was overkill.

3 series a year is asking a bit much

Maybe if they went back to 2 by scrapping summer CBB, they would put a bit more effort into marketing the regular series and making more effort into the regular series as a whole instead of letting it rot in favour of CBB

Big Brother was at its most successful at the very beginning, when it was nine/ten weeks long. Big Brother 3 is the most watched series ever, and that was just 64 days long. The only truly successful 13 week series in terms of ratings was BB7. BB8, BB9 and especially BB10 were considered, for Channel 4, disappointments in terms of ratings - hence why the show was axed during BB10's run.

As for Channel 5, the most successful series was BB14, and that was only two days longer than BB16. History shows that the shorter series are more successful than the longer ones, on average.
