If you were to be very logical about your interpretation (and your interpretation is fairly spot on) he did it for all of those reasons. But then you'd have to rank the import of the reasons in making the decision he made. So 1. votes 2. drunk 3. noms 4. goodness.

Even if you give them equal measure, he's three quarters a selfish git and a quarter not. Even at my most generous, I would say drunkenness ranked no.1. So make it 90% selfish git and 10% empathy.

My honest estimation is that it was 80% - WOAH I've got a chance to ingratiate myself with both the GB hms and the GB voters here; and 20% drunkenness.

And let's not forget he started the whole thing with his ... you're an amazing human being ... unlike the pretty women in this house (what, she's not one of them?) with big breasts who (as he put it) within twenty seconds you know are bitches. So the whole thing started off with him just wanting, yet again, to throw shade at Jenna and Farrah and Janice.

As I said I think he IS vain, but in comparison with the American women (who seem to spend 10 hours a day either in front of the mirror or deciding which outfit to wear) he is almost monkish.

Whether it was selfless or selfish, it made Gail feel better, so good for him.

I agree. I truly want to believe it was an act of kindness, and I hope it was but there is always a certain amount of cynicism isn't there? However, I hope this lovely memory will stay with Gail for the rest of her life.

I think Gail is too astute to be taken in by it, but also wise enough to go along with it and accept the gesture with good grace.

What in god's green earth do you expect them to do to occupy their day? They're sitting there and chatting. God knows none of the British housemates seem inclined to stoop to speak to them.

Being interested in something other than themselves would be a start.

Yes, I can almost here the sincerity in Austin's voice as he nominated Gail

So noble of him to want to boot her out and he even managed to make her cry when he nominated her.

Well done Austin, what a caring guy you are.

Why did she seem upset at being nominated if she wanted to go home? That doesn't make any sense.
