Just paid a load of money for this, as well as my new Samsung TV Curve- (which has it's own issues regarding remote control, hopefully now sorted although time tells). But, after 2 weeks, the dreaded lip synch showed itself tonight. And seemed harder to get rid off compared to my old unit - which did it in abundance.

New Humax has been great, had it 2 weeks, a wonderful piece of equipment and a revelation on top of my old Humax ( PVR9150? ) which I have loved for 6 years. ( That is still going, now relegated to my second TV although it is dying and forgets everything once turned off standby, but I can live with that as it is now a spare piece).

New one, the DTR T2000 has been great until tonight. We watched a recorded programme as usual, then that ended. All I did was scroll up one to the next programme, and the lip synch was out by around 0.8 seconds. Small delay, but Fing annoying once your watching - especially after forking out almost 200 for the unit alone. I tried the usual pause, and play, but it remained. I then cancelled that and played a different recorded program. Exactly the same. By now I have my head in my hands and am reminded of all the woes of the previous Humax.

I turned it off and on via standby, and having done so, the problem was solved.

But - this is a familiar issue from the past hat I thought I had got rid of by buying the latest and greatest!

I presume, this is always going to be an issue - any pointers or advice?

And yes, been deep into the menu and lip synch delay is set at zero. This unit did this "all by itself". And it was all too familiar.

Assuming it's the same UI as the HDR FOX T2. Menu Settings - Preferences - Audio - Digital Audio Output - change to Stereo

Not the same as mine Im afraid.

The issue has not happened since, but, seeing as it has happened once and so early on, it's bound to occur again.

Shame - this is supposed to be the flagship Humax. Trust has been dented to say the least. It may be I have to go back to AO if it continues.

What makes you so certain that the Humax is to blame? What steps have you taken to eliminate any other device in the viewing/listening chain?

How exactly do you listen to the audio output of the Humax? Are you using the TV's built in speakers or some sort of external sound device (soundbar, stereo system AV surround system)? And how is it all interconnected?

Have you tried the Humax with another TV to see if you can replicate the issue?

The TV will have a sound delay of it's own as picture processing takes longer than audio processing so it will delay the audio to synch the two back up. So there is a possibility the TV is causing the problem.

An AV amp will also have a lip synch facility so if you are using a surround system that too could cause the problem.

I had a 9150 for several years and currently use a Fox-T2 and have never once had any kind of lip synch issue resembling what you describe with either. But having said that it is not impossible that your Humaxs have had a problem but equally there is a chance that some other link in the chain is the cause. Finding the exact cause though might be a challenge.
