I first lost all my hair 4 years ago and again this year.. Unfortunately I have cancer so my hair loss is due to chemo... So hairloss is a minor issue...
However I do know that no hair no eyebrows no eyelashes makes you feel ugly and vulnerable... You get sympathetic looks or just rude stares... You have to deal with being told you have a nice shaped head... WTF!
Whether or not Gail or anyone has accepted their hairloss is personal and can change on a daily basis...
Wigs... They can be hot itchy and worse of all they can be obvious! Even a good quality EXPENSIVE wig can make you feel self conscious as you wear it that other people can tell it's a wig.

My hair takes up an awful lot of my time and money and I've often thought about shaving the whole lot off. But, no I don't think I could cope very well with having no choice in the matter.

To the 12 year olds saying "if she fells ugly wear a wig" i can't respond how i'd like because i'd get banned, i would say in my case, and it sounds like Gail is similar, your scalp/skin becomes so sensitive that even silk or really soft cotton is excruciating, so saying you would "rock" some wigs just displays your immeasurable ignorance rather than how super strong and problem solvey you are.

I've been lucky in that my hair is coming back in, not as thick but it's starting to look like hair. As others have said if it didn't of course i'd get on with it, like i have the times it has fallen out, that doesn't mean to say it isn't upsetting though.

That Gail "rocks" her baldy head in public, in an industry that is mainly interested in a woman's looks, is to be applauded.”

Well said. I often find that people are so quick to solve other people's problem off the back of complete ignorance. Alopecia? Depression? You name it they have all the answers.

I would have to cope but I know it would be awful.

I have also had chemo and when I tell people, the first question women ask is, ' did you lose your hair?'

Fortunately, I didn't.

Lol, you're just vain and shallow like me Panda.

And there's nothing wrong with that either.

I am a little bit Elle....but honest to God there have been times when I've been a little neglectful and my hair has formed in to one unholy knot that I've reached for the scissors in frustration and been tempted to chop the lot off! In those moments I was devoid of any vanity
What name??

Being flippant a better than stewing and mopping over a STRESS related issue. If she quit the self pity and got on with life as best she could and got counselling for the OCD she'd probably have hair by now. It's not like she lost a leg or her sight!
