I like Natasha and I think she genuinely cares for Gail. I don't believe she'd laugh at her.
Personally, I can see why she got upset when passive aggressive Gail chose to put her down with criticism while trowelling praise on others. It must have felt unfair.
But if i was Natasha Id steer well clear. It seems to me that Gail is carrying some wounds that make it harder for her to be so altruistically loving towards the younger women, like Chloe and Natasha. I get why she might be that way, her hair loss would be incredibly traumatising especially if you were once Britain's 'top babe', but this was a woman who liked attention so much she was regularly in lads mags and projected nude onto a British landmark. She might be mother earth now as an enforced consequence, but that other girl is still in there. And hurting.

I wasn't laughing at Gail's crying. I was laughing at the pretentious need to appease Gail. If Natasha noticed the ruse, then she has gone up quite literally in my ranks.
You'd have to walk around in a permanent depression if you never laughed or smiled whilst Gail was crying.
I'm sure we have all been in a situation at some point where a group of friends have all been sat together and one has got upset over something which to other people seems 'silly' -ie, "what?! Gail, ugly?! nah! no way!!" and tried to rally around to lighten their mood and let them see people are there for them.

Same here. I know what you mean. A situation turns from a fun one into an extremely awkward one at the drop of a hat.
For a while everyone was quiet and didn't know what to say, probably hoping that the tension would end somehow, then as soon as someone appeased Gail and they all followed suit, then before you knew it everyone was going over the top with platitudes as it got out of hand very very quickly.

I agree with this. It's clear that her condition has left her extremely bitter. Still, I doubt there's many women in her position who wouldn't be damaged by the rotten hand she's been dealt.
