I have noticed these white spots around my cats ears and he is itching too does anyone know what it is? I have attached some pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/Viypg.

is he itching in his ear or just around it? it he is itching inside the ear it could be ear mites

a quick trip to the vet will tell you why your cat is itching

Can't really tell from the picks, but tiny white spots (like dandruff) could be flea eggs. If you're that concerned, get your vet to give him a once over.

He mainly itches around the ears not in them, its not like dandruff I can wipe away so I was thinking some kind of infection

I have an appointment with the vet next week just worried really hope its nothing serious.

I cant really see anything from the pics apart from what looks like where he has been itching. So I would get him checked for mites
