I'm sorry but the script on the cliff edge was bloody awful. Even Alison King couldn't salvage anything from it.

Both actors did brilliantly tonight, but the script wasn't as sharp as it could have been.

I was concerned that the scenes would be too contrived and melodramatic but I was suprirsed to see that it worked quite well.

I enjoyed it. Now Tracy isn't an out and out villain Kate Ford is a lot more natural in the role. I know she's an old cow but I like Tracyluv!

I enjoyed their scenes together, but I don't like the direction they have taken with Carla's character.

The script was torturous. I was willing Carla to jump of that cliff just so I didn't have to listen to her self indulgent rubbish. It just went on and on and ON!
The actresses did a decent enough job but Carla's is definitely due a long ass break because I am sick to death of her self pitying merry go round of despair. |

Oh how times have changed, I remember people on here saying years ago that Kate Ford was one of the worst actors in Corrie
Now they are saying she is one of the best.I always knew she was fantastic. |

It took contrived to a whole new level. I like both characters, and personally think that Ali King is the only saving grace Corrie has at the moment, but even she struggled with that awful script. No wonder she's given the producers an ultimatum and threatened to leave over 'creative differences'!!!

If true, it's hardly surprisingly. Corrie are so restrictive with their characterisations and repetitive SLs. Both Alison King and Kate Ford must feel worn down. |

Why is Carla so wrecked with guilt over Kal and Maddie? She never gave a shit about Kasia when she caused her death? When she found out Tony killed Liam she didn't even bother to tell the police, despite knowing that Liam's son was going to grow up fatherless.
Now we are supposed to believe she is wracked with guilt? Please. |

Creative reasons/creative differences - seeing as 'official statements' very rarely go into the required amount of detail, I think it's easy to read between the lines what has happened - I don't believe she wants to go, and I don't think they want to lose her - I think this 'taking an extended break' bull was her giving them a chance to sort it out! Oh, and now the revised 'story' is that she's agreed to stay until next May before taking this extended break. Wouldn't mind betting that if they sort out the storylining and script issues in that time she won't leave at all. All seems very odd for someone who was apparently very keen to go and 'be creative' to agree to extend her contract? All this need for creativity away from Corrie and then it's retracted. Certainly seems as though she was using it as a bargaining chip - and good on her!
Anyone who thinks any 'official statement' is the whole truth needs to wise up. |

Anyone who thinks any 'official statement' is the whole truth needs to wise up. Also, when her departure was first announced in May, it clearly stated she would be going "at some point next year". Nobody who read the article thought it was imminent. Fact is we simply don't know, yet a poster above was already stating as a fact that Alison gave "the producers an ultimatum and threatened to leave over 'creative differences' " Really? ![]() ETA Just realised the poster above was you.
