Yes, he was a nasty little person.

In what way. On put your money he seemed jovial

When I start to type in his name in google, his name is followed with the word asperger. So, I guess some people have googled that combination before.

He does not seem asperger to me, just very jolly. But without the normal boundaries of touching and hugging. He seems to love everyone, and is very comfortable with men.

I love it when the very pragmatic Phil Serrell is paired with him

Mark Stacey is funny because he is such a bad loser.
And I adore Thomas Plant. He is useless at Bargain Hunt, but quite good here.
And having such a fat face while being slim is a mystery.
Mark Stacey makes me laugh with that roiling of his eyes and incredibly dry wit.

I agree about Charles he seems really friendly

I've met Charles Hanson and he is a lovely man, he asked if he could sit with us at an Auction we were at and was very friendly. He had a brush with cancer a couple of years ago around the same time that he and his wife lost their first baby. I really admire his zest for life and his passion for antiques.

Totally agree but she doesn't half take the mick fluttering her eyelashes and getting things ridiculously cheap. Gets the rock bottom and still wants more. Wonder if it'd work if I went in her shop and offered Ł50 for 2 items worth Ł160

It's all good fun and helps pass the time on dull days without having to go out. I like to imagine situations where I have an antique shop and the bargain hunters come in, sniff at the stuff in my shop, kick my cat, pick up something nice, rubbish it, offer me less than cost price, and then expect me to kiss their feet in gratitude. I respond by telling them not to waste my time but to get out of my shop pronto, before I set the wife on them. Either that or I listen to them extolling the virtues of a piece of old crap I have just picked off a skip and I lift Ł100 off them for it. In my dreams. I do think that some of the women experts think their femininity entitles them to a discount,

The shops are getting very cheap TV advertising by agreeing to the low prices.

Nonsense, how many people rush round to the Antique shop after seeing it on t.v. Do they even. give its name or where it is.

I've always thought it was odd how the shops and dealers just drop their prices massively at the first step, no haggling, no banter just bang, 60% off.

Christina Trevanion is an awful person. I dislike people like that, who are oh so cheerful and smiley while behaving in a bullying manner.

I no longer watch anything where she is, as I feel so sorry for the sellers. Yes, I know it is probably scripted in some way, but that does not make it any better.
Well I like her !!!!

He's a nice chap but not much cop in these programmes.

and has a lovely smile.

I can never understand why the dealers don't say "that's my price, if you don't like it I'll put the thing back in the cabinet". I'm sure that's the response I'd get.

I feel sure that they get a fee to take part.

I think they must do. In a lot of cases you can tell they have opened the shop specially for the programme, there are no other customers about most of the time.

The town they are in is stated and the name of the shop is always prominently in shot as well as being named - advertising. Also profits are for charity so the shop owners are therefore making a donation to Children in Need.

No, you wouldn't rush round to an antiques shop after seeing it on TV, but if you were in that area and had an interest in collecting and antiques, I'm sure you would go and look at the shop. They might also get a fee.

It's stated in various places that members of the public cannot get the discounts as they do on these programmes. Ten percent is what they can expect.

There is criticism from some dealers but:

"K.D. Antiques in Chester and the St Martin’s Antiques Centre in Stamford wrote in its defence, complimenting the producers on their professionalism and welcoming the publicity that led to a significant increase in footfall.

“There is a feeling that the presence of a film crew ‘encourages’ dealers to drop their prices. Isn’t it more likely that the dealer appreciates the value of free publicity and has little concern about the loss of a few pounds in return?” wrote Peter Light of St Martin’s."

I just saw a new woman on this show, and she was the most annoying person I have ever laid my eyes on.

Her name is Natascha something, and at the auction she acted like a five year old girl.
However, she was nice towards the sellers, I will give her that.

Natasha Raskin? Annoying? How very dare you? That's like kicking a puppy. (Albeit a demented one.)

She's always smiling and is absolutely gorgeous

I know some people put on a persona for the camera but she is the most cheerful happy person I've seen on TV for a long time

Her looks has nothing to do with whether or not I find her annoying.
It is her grin, her wide open mouth, without any sound coming out. She reminds me of Cherie Blair in the mouth department.

And her extrem flapping and raising of her hands. So much that the auctioneer had to talk to her twice.

Like I said, she behaves like a little girl.

I see it as enthusiasm. Pairing her up with Charles Hanson would be interesting

I quite like both of them at least they are genuine .Iam all for charlie ross taking over bargain Hunt though I think he has been far the best of the presenters .Whilst Christina is undoubtably gorgeous and upbeat she does know it and thats' a bit unattractive
