That is interesting in that the divegence is most remakable. We clearly need real and more recent data to clarify things better.

Another of your deluded views. I only reply to you when you are talking your usual Apple obsessed nonsense.

I know you don't like being proved wrong, but you must be use to it.

For all his posts on Apple, I'm not really sure why he doesn't like them.

Go have a look at both, have a play around see how they feel. What's great for me may well be awful for you. But I prefer iPhones personally.

Hmmmmmmm, the 6 will be the cheaper phone so if cost is an issue then go for the 6. The 6s has a few advantages over the 6 but will cost more to buy simfree or on contract. Look into both phones and decide if to YOU the difference between the phones justifys the higher price of the 6s. If it does get the 6s if it doesn't get the 6, or maybe go Windows or Android. It's almost impossible to recommend anyone a phone. Just do your own research an get the phone that suits your needs best.

As we now know the 6S and 6S plus support LTE-A and does carrier aggregation on EE and Vodafone,

does anybody know how the phone will display this ? Will just get the standard 4G symbol but get the faster speeds or will it do it correctly and show 4G+ or LTE-A

EE doesn't appear to want its devices showing 4G+. I can see the logic, in that people will start seeing 4G+ and then see 'normal 4G' as being old and wondering/moaning about it.

But when it comes to Apple, networks have next to no say in what is shown I'd have thought.

One of the main advantages of seeing 4G+ on the handset is when you want to download large files you can choose when to do it.

I don't remember being that many issues when we moved from HSPA to HSPA+

I wonder as well if EE were a bit unsure as well as they originally didn't have that much 4G+ coverage apart from parts of London,Now I am seeing lots of EE 2600mhz coverage around the UK that you can use single band but at present EE not allowing the aggregation of the 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz together apart from in London.

So you're saying Apple iPhones sell in such huge numbers that Apple can dictate to networks whatever they want?

What Apple wants, Apple gets.
Yes, they sell shit loads and basically tell the networks how it's going to be.
The networks compile otherwise they wouldn't be able to sell iPhones.
Personally I like it. It means iPhones nearly always support the latest features and there are no issues with firmware updates and suchlike.

Yes. Apple doesn't let manufacturers have handsets weeks or months in advance for testing and approval. It's take it or leave it.

It seems to work but, trust me, networks hate Apple for it.

Why would I trust you? I would trust the people I know who work for a UK mobile network. 😋

If you do, then you'd know that what I'm saying is totally correct.

And it should go without saying that operators obviously can and do work with Apple, but they don't have the luxury of getting devices to approve (and/or customise) and then give requirements back to the manufacturer before they range it.

Apple give a VERY short space of time, and if there are problems then the operator will miss out (imagine the damage of waiting until a future iOS/carrier update) and that's just not going to happen. What will happen is that the operator will delay launching a particular feature/service (e.g. WiFi Calling, VoLTE) and, obviously, there's no specific handset branding to worry about.

Perhaps by not working for a UK network, I have an advantage in that I get to speak to people from all of the UK networks (admittedly, O2 of late has been a company I've had almost no dealings with). O2 has an interesting procurement setup, or did, but I won't elaborate any further!

Hi

I was looking at the iPhone 6S on Three. 64GB Spacey Grey. £99 plus £56 per month, AYCE Data, Minutes and texts.

Or

The iPhone 6, 64GB Spacey Grey. £99 plus £57 per month. AYCE Data, Minutes and texts.

Surely that had to be an error? Why would u pay £1.00 more a month for last years iPhone :-s lol.

The iPhone 6 will probably drop in price after the 25th, that's a current price plan.

Nothing odd about this whatsoever and not the first time it has happened.

The overwhelming desire to own Apple means no consideration is given to anything other than what is broadcast. The need for this latest version is so strong it means all logic and sense is removed

No punter in their right mind would consider this a worthwhile upgrade over last years model. Yet as the video shows it will sell in the millions to the 'informed' punter.

You could have just linked to the last time you wrote this sort of nonsense.

Apple give the networks a lot of controls in the carrier profile, which is why all UK networks show as 4G whereas in the US they all show as LTE. So if you roam with a UK SIM in the USA you get "T-Mobile 4G" but take out the SIM and insert a US pre-pay SIM and you get "T-Mobile LTE" displayed.

Now I have no info if Apple has a 4G+ icon that can be displayed - but given they only have a single 3G icon for what Android shows as 3G/H/H+ then I am pretty sure that Apple will keep it as simple as 4G. (or LTE).

How is it nonsense? It's actually very accurate. When the Samsung s5 came out, it was a mild step up but not really a worthwhile upgrade to the s4. Many apple fans agreed at the time. The same applies here

It is the usual nonsense claim that anyone who buys an apple product only believes what they are told and are all some how fooled by the brand/media.

It's nonsense because if that was the case you would end up with lots of disappointed customers, whereas what they actually end up with is very high levels of customer satisfaction and growing ownership.
