I don't know what you mean. Maybe its because they look the same, so you can't quite get your head around the idea of anything else changing.

Still, i expect you're just surprised the iPhone is still even a thing what with Apply being doomed and all for what seems like years.

I'm a 5S user (and big fan). I'm pretty unsure about whether I should upgrade to the 6 or 6S. The 3D touch has nothing to do with my decision - seriously, it's a pointless feature and Apple haven't looked to work out how to integrated it into the device.”

Apart from all the examples they showed.

Steve can rest easy. Apple still hasn't announced a stylus. It's the Apple Pencil. Totally different.

It is a shame that now we're going to see Force Touch appear on every new mid/high end Android device, and thanks to Sony we'll almost certainly see loads of phones with 4K screens at CES or MWC next year.

I still want a phone with killer battery life. Some companies (Lenovo, Gigaset) are equipping phones with 4,000mAh batteries or more, but so many others are giving us incredibly powerful devices that can do so much - yet if you actually did use all the functionality for more than a few hours, the battery would be dead.

Can we perhaps get Apple to give us an iPhone Pro now?

Bored of 3d touch already, prime example of the need to raise excitement over the smallest thing.

Good to see they have 4k recording, especially as it is the lowest res flagship screen around Still as some have said 4k nowhere near mainstream for a long time, seems apple have another useless upgrade.

Hi

I watched the Keynote back to show my fiancée, who is a photographer; Live Photo.

She said to take a photo 1.5 seconds before would involve time travel lol. So how is this possible, some Apple magic must be working in the background?

Thanks

I wonder how long you can record 4K video, ignoring storage issues, but as in how long until it gets too hot?

This is something that could make a lot of difference as Android devices doing 4K video generally place a hard limit on length, or the hardware imposes one when it starts to melt.

Even in terms of PC Gaming 4K still has yet to hit off. 1440p seems to be getting fairly popular but 1080p is still by far the main.

Problem with 4K is that there still so little content in 4K that it makes it pointless still to invest in.

I would be surprised if 4K becomes properly mainstream by 2020.

We are still waiting for 1080p live TV which will likely never happen never mind 4K.

Ugh those poor apostrophes. What did they ever do to you?

I seriously doubt that 3D touch will be a game changer. A minor change at best.

4k video and 16gb base model. Yeah that'll work.

Love apple. Will be looking to upgrade as I've had my 5 for three years now and the battery is awful (have to say besides that it's been faultless). I don't really like big screen phones so was hoping for a refresh of the 4" but since there wasn't one I'll just have to deal with it.

Whilst I do love apple I wouldn't consider myself a 'follower'. Their stuff is over priced for what it is and to be honest I've not thought 'wow' about any iPhone since I bought the 4. It's okay. But nothing new or exciting.

Still, I prefer iOS over all other mobile OS and if I do get a 6s and it lasts as well as my 5 had I'll be happy enough.

So what is the better phone out of the Z5 and Iphone 6S?

Not really a fair comparison. First you need to decide what ecosystem you want in on. If it's iOS then your choices are an iPhone 6s or 6s plus, or perhaps the older models when they get cheaper in a couple of weeks.

If you're looking at Android, then you're asking about the Z5 vs other Android devices.

I don't believe that many people switch platforms these days.

Mind you, the tech sites will have comparisons with just about every device ever released in the coming days!

Not used Apple Pay yet hope to soon but is it vastly slower using that or something as honestly I find it perfectly fine was bit shocked they thought they needed do anything with it.

Im honestly struggling figure out why you would pick one of these new devices over the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus they are cheaper and basically do everything anyone would want.”

Funnily enough, yes. Unlocking the 6 is just ever so slightly too slow. Not completely annoyingly so but it could do with a tad more speed.
Also slightly too slow when paying (especially compared to using a card). the checkout person is sitting there looking at you while you watch that little print animation fill in your fingerprint and your kinda thinking... "come on...... come on......." ... BEEP.... "Ah... thank God"
Hahahahaha

If you want battery life the 6 or 6s plus is really the model to go for.

I agree. totally underwhelmed by 3D Touch. it's kind of like tap and hold with extras.
Surely you could just tap and hold an email and it could pop open. How is pressing a bit more any different??
Faster touch sensor is the only thing I would want.
I'll wait for the 7!

Me to. I always upgrade on the major (eg. 5 - 6) updates anyway.
Keynotes don;t normally wow me anymore but two things did this time.
Apple TV and that amazing remote with Siri.

iPad Pro with the pencil. I wan't one but can't afford it!

The only benefit would be that touch and hold means a slight delay. Pressing hard should make it instant. In our fast moving world where waiting a second or so gets us angry, that's possibly a must-have feature!

That's fine until you start pressing by mistake because you pressed a little too hard, and turn the function off.

Only in your strange little reality, I haven't seen a single review or heard any person in the mobile industry ever make the comparison that the iPhone 6 competes with the likes of the Moto G. They are in 2 totally different market segments (in the real world on planet Earth, at least).

I agree, I'm not overly excited by the new iPhone, but I am really considering getting an AppleTV box (something I haven't had before, in any form).

Yes, the Moto G is in no way directly in competition with an iPhone.

The point is that a Moto G might do everything an iPhone user wants from a phone, so in that way they're comparable, but that's nowhere near the same thing.

For me the 3d touch came across as a bit of a gimmick in the presentation and I don't think it was presented that well so I'm not sold on it.

I would have to see how it works in the real world to come to a proper conclusion.

Thanks Jon, I was feeling like we had gone through some interdimensional wormhole and ended up in the strange world that Alan inhabits .

By his reasoning the iPhone 6 must also directly compete with a £20 Alcatel Pop, theoretically it can do everything the iPhone or Moto G, or Samsung Galaxy edge does...

I think the camera is one of the main differentiators between the budget devices and a top end samsung or iPhone. For example my Nexus 5 camera quality is pretty much a joke compared to the iPhone even though they are supposed to be the same megapixel count.

The 13MP camera on the Moto G is actually really good though. No OIS mind.

Its unlikely you will ever see 1080p on live television, I don't know of any broadcaster worldwide that does it, nor any satellite that supports it either. Will only be through ip services like netflix.

I suspect the same will also be true of 2160p only available through iptv where as 2160i will likely be the format for normal broadcast telly.
