What's 'proper aluminium'? Tell us what you know.
The 6S and 6S plus contain 7000 series aluminium, which is stronger than the previous 6000 series aluminium. Have a look at UnboxTherapy on YouTube, he did a video showing the difference in force required to bend the two chassis.

Its unlikely you will ever see 1080p on live television, I don't know of any broadcaster worldwide that does it, nor any satellite that supports it either. Will only be through ip services like netflix.

I suspect the same will also be true of 2160p only available through iptv where as 2160i will likely be the format for normal broadcast telly.
The BBC and ITV broadcast in 1080p on Freeview for certain programmes. However it's only 1080p25.

It's one day and they are already bending it?

They won't be able to bend these new iPhones. They are unbendable. I know the new Samsungs are still very bendable though but I guess that'll change now they have something else to copy.

Apple would only change the metal if they knew there was an issue with the previous. Samsung of course will as they had the same issue apple had. It's not copying! It's common sense.

Talking about copies, did you notice the ipad with the keyboard is a direct rip off of the Microsoft Surface?

There were keyboard cases available for the iPad 1.

I've just bought a surface pro 3, and the hardware/software/keyboard are nothing like the iPad.

I would like to have a play with the iPad keyboard because I'm not overly impressed with the surface pro one, and that is after only 2 days of use. I don't think these super thin keyboards really work.

The new iPad Pro keyboard is nothing like the Surface one. I've seen a few hands on reviews and the experts are already saying how amazing it is to type on. The Surface keyboard never feels natural or right when you tap on it.

They rip off ideas and execute them better, but they usually don't come with original ideas.

What's the surface pro 3 like itself? Been thinking of getting one for a while now.

First impressions are that the machine is powerful. It performs better than my full blown HP laptop (which is a couple of years old).

Hardware is also solid, if a little heavy. It is a lot easier to move about and use than my laptop, so it gets a thumbs up from me.

I'm struggling a little with touch screen windows, but that is more to do with being use to IOS and not having put much time into learning it yet.

Overall I'm happy with it.

I think Surface type keyboards are okayish, but I must admit I don't use it much, it's on-screen keyboard for me mostly. Also because you cannot easily put it on your lap, it has to be put on some erm surface for it to work well. It does not hold its position like a laptop keyboard does, any way you open it, it stays there. But I love the device (Surface 3 Pro) itself, the best device I bought in a long time. If only I could stop MS nagging me to upgrade to W10

Thanks

I have an Asus transformer just now running windows 10, so should be a doddle for me to switch. Will pop and have a look at one soon

I don't like it on touch. I rolled back both my SP3 and XPS13 and waiting what they come up with in November.

Yeah, I don't have too much of a downer on the keyboard.

I bought the device 2 days ago and have spent most of the time typing on it and I don't really think it has a great 'feel'.

Its a good point about using it on your lap. I will have a need to use it on the train with the stand and keyboard and I think that will work well.

I also like to the kickstand, comes in handy.

Disappointed to see that the iPad isn't getting an update - still running an iPad 3 and was planning to upgrade this year. Maybe next year then...

When Consumer Reports famously released their bend data, the strength needed in the middle matched 'what we know they are abnormal' Samsung called 'normal pocket force'.

So did they meaure it at the iPhone easy bend points, those being the volume cutouts?
This no doubt solves the failed volume key problems attributed to invisible bends and not covered in the warranty if Apples own forums are to be believed.

I don't want to hijack the thread, so last one about SP3/4, there are rumours that SP4 is coming, so I would wait till October/November. SP3 is quite popular so I'd expect a refresh from MS.

You make it sound like Apple never copy ...

I mean, they haven't copied the design of the keyboard cover, they haven't copied the Lumia/HTC Living Images/Zoe. The Apple Pen isn't anything like the MS Surface pen, or a myriad of similar products going back many years. The 3D touch looks like a lousy version of what Nokia/MS had leaked for an earlier (but scrapped) product. Apple are absolutely shameless in their copying of others designs, and no, they don't appear to have done any of these better than those that they've copied from.

Have they said if the living images will be supported on older devices? From what I know of the Nokia implementation (it ran fine on the underpowered 1020), they should be able to implement it without any problems on the 5S. But probably won't, as it would reduce the need for users to upgrade.

iOS10 and the iPhone 7 is going to include a version of the Nokia Refocus ....

Wait a second. The bending issue was made up, exaggerated, the fault of the user..

And now the new iPhone is made of a stronger material, it turns out there WAS a problem? Are you saying the old ones did bend after all?

Wash your mouth out!
