I will remember her for having much more patience and objectivity than I have. She treated BB with sensible detachment, coupled with much enthusiasm, and was especially good at fighting any stereotyping and trying to see the best in people who were being much maligned.

RIP. What an evil disease it is.

This is very sad news.

Like most others I have always enjoyed reading her posts. In fact, having stopped watching BB at around the same time as WD, I still felt myself sometimes drawn to the forum, but unable to join in. But when I saw a post by WD, I would often read her post, then click on her profile to see what else she had been talking about, both on DS:BB and on GD.

It was just a pleasure to read her posts.

Good to see many of the old names on this thread - WD certainly touched a great many people on DS.

RIP xx

So sad to read this. Please pass on my thoughts to friends and family. Wonkeydonkey's name always made me smile as it reminded me of watching Ant and Dec on SMTV with the kids on Saturday mornings when they were younger.

RIP Wonkeydonkey. xxx

I hope her family will take some comfort from the wonderful tributes form posters across the board both here and in GD. I don't ever remember the like before and doubt we will see it again . It is entirely deserved in this case. RIP .

Oh my goodness! I can't believe how sad I felt, seeing this news.
She was a person whose face I have never seen, but whose posts I often agreed with and who often said things, more articulately than I could hope to. Never rude, compassionate and funny.
A true DS favourite, who will be very missed.xxx R.I.P Wonkey.

It's so sad to hear this news. I always enjoyed Wonkey's posts. Like others have said, you would always click on a thread that she'd posted because you knew it would be interesting and thoughtful. *Waving to wonkey, wherever you are!* xxx

It makes you believe life is too short for us all, we all die eventually but our spirit lives on in the afterlife..

Terribly sad news.

I didn't realise that she was also Don't Call Me Shirley on the Channel 4 forum, so I feel like two brilliant posters have gone missing.

Yet again, a big character has been evicted far too early.

What a lovely way of putting it! I'm sure Wonkey would have approved

Hello everyone. I have asked Wonkey Donkey's daughter for permission to put a link here to a Just Giving page set up in her memory by the family, in aid of the hospice where she was nursed during her last few days. I hope it won't be against the T&Cs of the site.

I know that one or two people wanted to send flowers but maybe a small donation here instead would be very much appreciated. xx

I'm a long-time lurker and rarely post, but I want to add my voice to all those here saying how much WD will be missed. I always read her posts because I knew I'd be getting some considered, intelligent and thoughtful insights into the show we've all loved all these years. Hope her family can take a little comfort in knowing about the enjoyment she's brought to all of us.

I'm not sure. She'd probably give me plenty of evidence that I was talking out of my arris.

I think she'd have a field day multi quoting from this thread. She had many wonderful qualities and such knowledge - the ability to multi quote being one that she used to fantastic effect.

Oh wow thank you so much for this! Yes I'll definitely get on to this later. But oh my gosh that last photo...

The word hospice was only mentioned when we found out she died. She must have gone downhill very swiftly in the last 2 weeks. The vibrant lady hiking round the countryside is definitely the Caroline I shall remember.

Well one thing you could take from her to become a better poster yourself, I hope Channel 5 maybe someday will see sense and drop Summer CBB after this series.. Also the Big Brother live feed is still worth the fight as a hour per weekday is not enough. She was a great poster and will be missed.
I missed that the firs time around. I'm going to try to do just that.

I'll also try to keep the multi-quote style present in these forums, since I do that anyway.

Thanks, zeebra, and like ValW I was brought to tears as the pictures mixed with memories.

That last photograph is very poignant isn't it. I've shed quite a few tears this week too.
