Can someone confirm for me wonkey was the lady who would sometimes say goodnight during bots as she was tired in recent times especially during the recent regular bb.

If it is the correct poster and I think it was I also remember her saying she was feeling poorly a few times, but sadly none of us knew why

Very sad news. I didn't know her personally but I did always enjoy her posts.

RIP Wonkeydonkey.
The comments here are amazing, a great character with a great knowledge of BB. I think this thread may run for a while as more people see it
What a tribute to her a thread with not one nasty comment.

I was honoured to be her Facebook friend so I saw the sad news this afternoon. I couldn't face being the one to break the news to the whole forum so thank you anne_666 for starting this thread. A rare show of unanimous agreement indeed!

She had been under a lot of hospital care since the spring but was always so matter of fact about it. Never one to make a fuss. She kept upbeat with her tales of NHS incompetence, making it sound like the plot of a sitcom, and I wish you could have read about her childlike glee at getting a stairlift fitted! So the end came as a shock, I think she kept the worst of it away from us and treated chronic illness like just another one of life's hurdles you have to deal with.

On here we bonded in one of the Appreciation Threads. As so many of you have said she was always very fair and thoughtful. She loved getting stuck into a meaty debate and was always interested and respectful of wildly differing views.

BB14 was the final straw for her - too manipulated and resorting to personal humiliation for her liking. She had a bad instinct about BB15 and refused to watch, a good call as it turned out. She was still up for dissecting the tiniest detail of BB's good old days though!

So yes, it's quite fair to call Wonkeydonkey a DS legend, one who will be very sorely missed.

I trust she gave the Grim Reaper a polite and very stern telling off for his audacity.

Not sure, I think she gave up commenting on BB in 2014. Whether she watched or not I don't know.

A very thoughtful and fair minded poster who will be missed. I've read the forums for some years and she was always there with a considered opinion, wit and much grace.

There aren't many who stand out in a good way in internet land, and I am really sad to hear the news. Many condolences to family and friends.

Oh ****ing hell.

I'd guessed she was ill somehow. There was something weird about the way she tailed off from posting in the middle of a thread.

Probably my favourite poster on here: a very fair, clever, witty and determined person.
Someone I felt genuinely fond of and whom I'd have liked to have met.

I can't say for certain but probably not as she didn't watch the last 2 regular series.

What a terrible shock.

I loved reading Wonkey''s posts. She was incredibly insightful and very balanced. I often commented on her posts by stating that she summed up my POV much more eloquently than I ever could.

My condolences to her family and friends.

I don't think I ever talked to her on here but I've read a lot of her posts and was a name that made me think of BB everytime I saw it. Love to all her family and friends at this difficult time.

Very sad, I know she stopped watching BB but she always stood out amongst the ridiculousness on here as being an incredibly articulate, fair and balanced poster who always made brilliant contributions to conversation about both BB past and present, she will be sorely missed
