It made me think we should all be kinder to each other- we have no idea what our forum "friends" are going through in our real lives -
I think that's a very good point. We don't know what forum members are going through or how posting in these forums might be helping them.

...

I'm shocked and saddened by this news. I think it leaves a hole in the forum that cannot be refilled, and I can only imagine its effect on her family and on those who were fortunate enough to know her 'in real life'.

I've wondered quite often recently where she was. Though she'd become disillusioned with BB, there were threads in other forums that needed her combination of knowledge and insight, and I was surprised she wasn't posting in them. I never thought the reason would be anything like this.

I'll miss her.

So sorry to hear this, Wonkey was the first voice of reason i read when i joined this forum and she never once faltered off course. An ability i admired massively.

Here's to you Wonkey.

Oh gosh, this is incredibly sad and shocking news.

Internet forums and social media seem to bring out the worst in human nature - so it's incredibly rare to come across someone like Wonkey who's decency, humour and personality always shone through in such a positive way. She'll be sorely missed.

My heart goes out to her family and friends.

RIP Wonkey.

Here's to you Wonkey.
Something I liked a lot about Wonkey was that you could have a long discussion with her, when you were on opposite sides, without it ever degenerating into tactics or game-playing or other unpleasantness. It was a great strength in her, I thought; and I did disagree with her about most BB-related things, so I have a lot of experience of it.

I agreed with her more on other topics, though, and there are subjects I don't think will ever be discussed as well without her, both here and in other DS forums.

Sad news

It's lovely to see that WD who posted for years in the BB forum is also fondly remembered here as well as in General Discussion.

I really liked the discussions that you both had.I am sure she really enjoyed them too.You both kept them so interesting and fair.

She was a huge part of this site to me and I loved reading her posts and many times she got me to really think about things and revaluate my take on situations and people.
I always agreed with her posts in GD and I knew that she would be a person that I would really get on with in real life.
I would have learnt a lot from her and she would have been a great mentor for young people. She was very kind to me on here.
Truly a great loss and I am deeply saddened even though I only knew her on this site.

R.I.P Wonkey. Deepest sympathy to your family and friends.

I didn't know her personally, but RIP Wonkey x x . She will be such a big loss to the forum. I really hope one day that we get a cure for all cancers, so nobody has to be taken too soon .

I'm shocked, what sad news. I know she stopped posting on BB when it was on a few years back, but would pop up inbetween. The multi- quoter with always an interesting response ... you will be missed. x

Caroline was so funny on here and FB and kept her famous sense of humour up to the end. I raise a toast to her great wit and hope there is a digital spy forum wherever she is now. Gone but definitely not forgotten Wonkey x
