According to Inside Soap's interview with Stuart Blackburn, Rob will catch sight of a particular item about Underworld on a stray newspaper. This will then give him control to start messing with people's lives from inside his prison cell. I reckon that he somehow manages to gain some information about how Carla covered up the death of that Polish worker at Underworld back in 2007. Perhaps he has made some contacts and manages to uncover the truth about what happened? He then starts blackmailing Carla with this new information. What do people think?

Rob's return just highlights what a mistake it was making him Tina's killer (or in fact killing Tina at all). Why get rid of good quality actors who are open to returning? Obviously Rob is back and whilst it will be great and to see him, surely his stint will be somewhat limited in prison.

It's like what DTC said in that interview mentioned on the other thread, killing off characters might make ratings spark for a little while, but it causes long term damage. I miss Tina tbh, one of the better characters & I really liked Rob with Tracy, one of my favourite Corrie couples.

Agree with both statements, although the writers eventually ruined Tina by having her involved in virtually every plot- there was no need for her feud with Kirsty. Her affair with Peter was on a par with Molvin cringeworthiness.

Rob brought out the best in Tracy's character and it was probably her most convincing relationship since Charlie Stubbs. I never bought her with Steve and didn't get her obsession, the fling with Ry-un was Godawful and the Tony thing just didn't quite work.

I began hating Tina when she was involved with Peter, it was unrealistic enough that she'd go after him in the first place, but making Rob the killer was an awful decision, despite producing a good BGT week for 2014.

Tracy's partners don't really work do they? Like you I found her & Charlie convincing, but everyone else she's had since then (remember she shagged David Platt then Nick ) haven't worked apart from Rob. I also thought Marc Baylis was a really good actor & giving Carla a brother worked very well.

Yes, I definitely agree that making Rob the killer was a massive mistake. Tracy has actually not been too bad as a character under Blackburn, but her relationship with the Godawful, wooden Robert is dull as dishwater.

I disagree with this statement

I think you're right. It has to be doesn't it? The newspaper will have his picture in it and tag him as being co-owner and this will ruffle Rob's feathers for some reason

I don't get why they get rid of characters, just to bring in new ones. Is there something wrong with developing current characters and progressing them? Okay Marc Baylis wasn't that great when he first arrived, but he did well and managed to fit in, then they chose to axe him. Meanwhile there are worse characters still there.

What could could he possibly have on Aidan? Perhaps he was involved in some armed robbery that both committed and Aidan got away scot - free? Rob is resentful of his new found success and wants revenge.

I don't care what he has on anyone I'm just glad he is back he should never have been made Tina's killer, I wasn't a fan of Rob but I think Marc was great and really settled into his role just as he got axed.

I also agree - it was a bad decision to make him the killer. I always thought Rob had a lot of potential that was never used. His past was hardly spoken about, Rob and Aidan could be very interesting to watch now...I doubt that will happen though?

I always maintained that they should have had Phelan kill Tina in a case of mistaken identity- with the intended target being Katy Armstrong. It would also have provided her with a more interesting exit as she struggled to deal with the fact that she had cheated death.

Rob became better as a character over time, and was great with Tracy.
