Chris does, perhaps without properly thinking it through, lump all Americans into one bracket, so it seems like Chris has a habit of forgetting about Austin too.

To be fair, reacting to Americans like they are some sort of alien species that you rarely encounter more suggests someone is living in a bubble.

I bet you'd defend to the hilt the diversity of the UK--a country that's one fourtieth the physical size and one fifth the population. Do you speak like a Scotsman? Or even like someone born a County away from you? I'd bet not, and that you'd rage for days if someone suggested you did.”

Ha ha, proffer lazy generalisations on the TV and I will comment upon them as I see fit my dear subject.

For the record, I couldn't stand Helen Wood's nasally Manc twang, but bracket me if you will.

And therein lays the problem.

To be precise and to take his "chin" comment in context he was talking about the combative American HMs and how loud and aggressive they were and due to this if he "heard" an American outside the house he'd chin then. It was a joke about almost being given PTSD from those particular HMs. A bit like someone saying they were now wary of dogs because they were bitten by one.

And people on here constantly wailing and gnashing their teeth over the biased treatment of the American HMs need to realise is they are the ones MAINLY screaming at people, being aggressive towards people (including threatening to kill everyone in the house), using homophobic slurs (whether for a task or not, the fact that she went to that constantly speaks volumes), being hypocritical and taking everything way too serious and jumping from the cliched "we're all winners" to being the victims at the drop of a hat (prime example their reactions to being nominated last night).

I do feel sorry for Americans having to watch this though, they must feel as embarrassed as when Bush jnr was president.

No, He voiced his opinion, so sad that people are not allowed that now if you do seems some people label you, same as the Kosher thing, [he was stating a better wine as it was Kosher] anyway how come Jenna was drinking out of a can last night

As a Manc I can state that Helen Wood DOES NOT have a Manc twang as such, it is a Northern twang.

Yeah, sounds Bolton to me. Mixed with a little fog-horn and cement mixer.

It was a bigoted comment, likely fuelled by alcohol and whatever had gone off before. I can't remember which argument it followed.

I wouldn't.”

It would depend on why he wouldn't want to see a Nigeria again

But what Chris actually said was that he wanted to violently attack the first American *expletive* he saw. The implication being that he didn't care about the type of person they were, only that they were of American nationality and that he wished to do them harm. Clearly that's xenophobia. The idea that it was simply a "joke" just doesn't hold up, you cannot accept unethical behavior just because it's disguised as a joke.
