Post-40 number one singles
intoxication

Do you think it's likely that Pink (36) or Beyoncé (34) will score a UK and/or US number 1 single after they hit 40? I chose these two singers as they are contemporary but older than their female "rivals"

Neither have had a #1 since 2008. I would be surprised if they have another before they are 40, let alone afterwards.

Pink got to number 1 in 2013 but I thought it was both the UK and U.S. But it seems it hit number 1 in America but number 2 here. Still, I still think they are the best bets

Yeah, I was thinking specifically of the UK charts. Also must be considered that the #2 was a duet with a guy who was very popular at the time, so it sold well with two separate fan bases - I think that's her most likely route to the top of the charts to be honest, either a very strong duet or a 'collaboration' with Calvin Harris or someone similar.

as for Beyoncé, I don't know really as I'm not a fan at all - but the singles from her last album flopped (by her standards). My prediction is that she will completely give up on the charts and focus all of her attention on being a 'cultural icon'.

Jennifer Lopez had a number one whilst she was 40.
