Why are people who want to have a career in the media get criticised for it? How else do you get one? By not wanting it? Do people who want to be doctors or engineers etc get called 'greedy' and 'desparate'? It's just silly.

She is fame crazed. Not surprised.

I don't think anyone minds people with talent or who are entertaining, becoming famous, it's just those seeking fame for fame's sake who are vacuous.

It's not really surprising though - in our society those who become famous are often well - rewarded and their opinions are valued (often in areas where they have no expertise whatsoever), while those who work and study to gain academic qualifications such as those in science, are poorly rewarded (in monetary terms).
