Seen this thread last year so just thought I'd create a similar one in 2015 now the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus successors are unveiled and released in a mere few weeks.

Basic question YES or NO will users/owners of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus upgrade their devices to the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus now or wai until September 2016 and get the iPhone 7?.

Poll coming soon for those that don't wish to reply.

No, I'm quite happy with the 6, and while the updated camera looks good the current camera on the 6 is already very good. The rest of the new features don't justify the expense of doing an upgrade.

I am undecided, OK the look of the phone itself and most of the specifications are exactly the same as my iPhone 6 but the 3D Touch and improved Camera looks quite impressive.

It would be great come 25 September to have and own the "flagship" iPhone again but something is telling me that this iPhone 6s just isn't worth the cost of an upgrade and hold off until the iPhone 7 is out next year.

I'm really unsure of what to do, I mean both phones look exactly the same and have pretty much the same specs. but the 3D Force Touch on the 6s is an amazing feature and looks very cool and appealing. The camera improvements don't bother me much as I don't use the camera that much.

If I did get the iPhone 6s I'd have to cancel my planned holiday next month and use the funds I had saved to buy it outright, my current iPhone 6 contract is in mums name and she has already told me she will NOT let me sell it haha.

Personally, in the scenario you have described I would have a holiday and then grab the iPhone7 when it comes out. 3D touch and new camera looks nice but I have never had a problem with the iPhone camera and I'm sure I could wait for 3D touch if it meant I got a holiday

Nah I'm not interested at all. Slightly better camera and a slightly improved touch feature is not selling it to me.

I expect they're holding the next big advancement back until next year.

My pet hate has always been rogue vibrations on phones.

One of my biggest irritations with the iPhone 4 was Voice Control, which made two annoying vibrates every time it was activated and there was no way to turn it off.

As petty as it sounds, it's one of my biggest concerns with the iPhone 6S. I can see 3D touch vibrating all the time with no option to turn it off.

Wish I could change my vote in the poll from NO to YES now, I know cancelling a holiday for a phone seems a bit extreme and mad but the way I see it my holiday is a week whereas the iPhone 6s will last me way longer.

Now all I need to do is get everything cancelled on Monday and see if I can get some sort of refund.

I might have if I wasn't contractually obliged to keep my iPhone 6 Plus and EE sim paired together for 2 years... But that's a big "might"...

How are you contractually obliged?

There is no reason you cannot sell your phone, get another one and put your EE sim in it, is there?

Yes. There is. As part of my deal the two have to be paired for 2 years.

You might be mistaken plymouthbloke.

EE don't care what phone you put your sim in as long as you pay your bill. I've had phones on contract with 4 different carriers over the years and that has never been a thing.

I'm not mistaken mate. EE own the phone for the first 6 months for all contracts, however as I work for them and get a substantial discount on my plan, a condition is that I waive the 6 month rule in favour of a 24 month rule. Which means I can't unlock or use a different device.

To be honest, there really isn't enough of an upgrade as a 6 Plus user, reading the specs again so I'll happily wait for the iPhone 7

Interesting to hear that EE employees don't own there devices until end of 24 months are they worried they going let there employees go before than lol.

But agreed not sure unless someone needs the absolutely best device all the time why anyone would think a 6S was a good upgrade from a 6.

No it means that they're not massively discounting a handset that'll be unlocked and sold basically.

I would have thought if the holiday is next month, then you will only see about 10% maybe 15% back to you (if that!) seems a big loss for the sake of a phone that is really not that much different to the current one.......then what will you do in 12 months when 7 comes out ?

Yeah you were right, just been on the phone to holiday company and from the £799 I have paid I will get £119.85 back as the holiday is being cancelled fewer than 10 weeks before I was due to travel. I can't even claim some cash back on my insurance as cancelling the holiday for the iPhone 6s isn't a valid reason.

Going back to what you said about the iPhone 7 in September 2016, once I pay for the iPhone 6s outright next month I will continue paying Virgin Media the £26 a month for my iPhone 6 so when the 7 Sept 2016 payment gets taken I will only have to pay them £260 for an early upgrade.

The above posters saying that the iPhone 6s isn't much of an upgrade from the iPhone 6 are deluded, the iPhone 6s is far superior and classier than the iPhone 6, the 3D Force Touch looks amazing.

I've only just recently purchased iPhone 6

iPhone 6s may have a few upgrades but tbh from what I've read there's not going to be any major difference (the new force touch doesn't really make me giddy)

Before I got the 6 I had a 4s and the difference between the 2 phones is outstanding, loving the 6 right now, will most likely have it for the next year or 2

BIB - Wow that is crazy, you are going to flush £679 down the loo just to get the iPhone 6s, Sirocco go on your holiday and enjoy it, the 3D Force Touch will still be here next year on the iPhone 7.

I certainly will NOT be getting the iPhone 6s as once iOS 9 is released for the iPhone 6 next week they will pretty much be the exactly the same phone, plus with it being a "S" update the next major update to the iPhone will come in September 2016.

Is this a genuine post? You are going to flush almost £700 down the toilet to get £100 back to put towards a phone? I still don't get how a phone that looks identical can be "classier" and I don't see how a slightly different force touch makes it a "far superior" phone.

Astounding...
