The character of Alicia has really developed the past year especially with hard hitting stories and brilliant performances by Natalie Anderson. I would have hoped her exit be a but more exciting, but I have a feeling it's not the last we will see of her....let's hope she returns one day!

I'm not going to miss her. The only time I thought she was any good was during the Lachlan assault storyline. Other than that I thought she was just about ok.

I'll definitely miss her. She was really underused for a good while after she got together with David, but they put that right with the Lachlan story. I'd have liked to see more of her strange friendship with Chrissie, because they were great in scenes together.

But I wish Natalie all the best. I also hope she comes back one day.

To be honest she has been pretty dull since the Lachlan storyline and her sour face over the last few weeks has got on my nerves. I won't miss her awful wardrobe either.

I'm pleased she's been written out in such a way that she can return if she wants to.

I'll definitely miss her, she's been my favourite character in soap since her arrival. I loved the love triangle with her, David and Priya and the Lachlan assault story. And best of all I have loved her relationship with Jacob.

She was underused for a long while after she married David and that was a shame.

I am pleased she has been written out in such a way that she could return one day. I look forward to it, in a village full of mostly vile people, she is a breath of fresh air.

I will definitely miss Alicia. Natalie Anderson is such a talented and beautiful actress and will certainly not be short of job offers.

Good character but i won't be sad to see her go. I will be gutted to see Charley Webb leave temporarily though, which i know won't make me popular around here by saying that. But i wish her all the best and hope she doesn't resort to panto and reality shows to pay the bills. She's too talented for that.

BIB Agreed. I'd hate to see someone like her in the jungle or on Big Brother. I never go to panto which I know I'd hate but was taken when I was a kid and I agree that she can do better, maybe a drama that's more of a thriller.

Out of Debbie and Alicia I prefer Debbie and while I think the break from her will do ED good I'll look forward to her return.

Alicia was a right mardy, unlikeable cow when she first arrived, almost as bad as Debbie. But unlike Debbie, she became likeable and sympathetic, over time

A pity that Natalie Anderson has quit, and that Charley Webb will return.

I find it so unrealistic that she would leave David behind for the sake of running a bar in Portugal. I loved David and Alicia as a couple, and no couple so much in love would have such an abrupt ending over something so petty.Much as I love Alicia, it would have been better if they killed her off.

I think you've missed the point there. It wasn't the bar in Portugal that was the main reason she left, it was more to do with the Lachlan thing and the way she now felt about living in the village. I can understand that up to a point though I agree with you that it seemed ridiculous to break them up as they were such a good couple.

It's a shame, I also found the exit a bit poor and rushed but what was the alternative? Death I suppose, and I wouldn't have liked that either. I hope Jacob is brought back at some point though, he was just getting to that age where he could carry some story lines of his own.

There have been characters who suffered sexual abuse in soaps before and who stayed on. Besides, Alicia seems to have remarkable powers of emotional recovery - she protected the little turd from a group of boys who wanted to attack him, for God's sake! In reality no woman who has suffered molestation or abuse would be so quick to leap to the defence of their abuser mere weeks following the event. Usually it takes years of counselling and sometimes medication to recover any semblence of normality. I see too that she has reverted to dressing as she always did, not that there's anything wrong with what a woman chooses to wear, but there was such a big deal made over her throwing out her clothes and dressing more conservatively. I didn't like the Lachlan storyline and found its conclusion unrealistic. It's my opinion that it was nothing but a ratings grabbing stunt, one which was not thought out properly. She didnt seem too bothered over the Lachlan thing when she returned to the villiage with David,, she was acting more annoyed over the bar - especially when Paul offered to make her a partner. I hate the way that she was written out, it was so rushed. She was in love with David for ages and they went through a lot to be together, therefore this abrupt ending makes no sense.

I thought they both gave up really easily. They just assumed that their only options were to stay together in Emmerdale or split up. David could have stayed for a while, with Alicia going back to Portugal and David planning to join her later. Obviously Matthew Wolfenden didn't want to, so they could have let the relationship die a slow death, with him admitting that he didn't want to move in the first place. As it was, it all seemed very rushed.

I feel that as soon as an actress tells the producers that she wants to leave the show, she is pushed out of the back door as soon as possible. It feels like a punishment. It was the same with Katie, and they turned Rachel into some sort of monster before she went. Gennie and Val were different of course, but they were exceptions. This is my opinion of course!

I guess David will go to visit Alicia & Jacob at some point, as Matt will need paternity time off when Charley gives birth.

Long shot, perhaps take Eric with him, so to give Chris Chittell a break too.

Must admit I'll miss Natalie for 2 good reasons!
