Indeed. Make it the same one each time might even allow a bit more depth, because he won't be starting from scratch each time. Not that You're Fire really does depth.

What a surprise;
Matt Edmondson is a guest on Episode 1, Grace Dent on Episode 2 and Claude in Episode 3. Why does YF seemingly have such a low budget? Can't they hire some bigger, more original names for a two or so hour recording?! |

I don't think they necessarily need big names to grace the show, just people who are going to be vaguely interesting or engaging to listen to. I really hope they've given up on those awful skits they did last year.

What one? I liked Katherine Ryan's mock up two years ago. I don't mind comedy elements in the show
They should get people from this forum on the show! I'd love to do it, I think I could bring a lot more fun to it than a lot of the professional comedians. |

Are Katie Hopkins and Luisa ZIssman still banned from your fired.
It's always strange to me if that's the case as they are the two highest profile candidates in the history of the show |

Dara was ok, but I couldn't make out half of what he was saying. I get the feeling that wont be the same with Jack.

Terrible decision. Not exactly 'current' is he? Who was second choice? Jim Davidson?

Only if they want the least funny comedian ever to walk the earth.
I think Jack Dee is a good choice as host. I like Romesh too, but he does divide opinion in other TV comedy threads. Anyway, I'd rather have different guest comedians each week, as before. |

Oh trust me, it can get old. I think Dara in particular never knew when to end a joke. I'm pretty sure we saw him make fun of Felipe referring to himself in the third person more times than we saw Felipe actually do it. He'd reference it every week practically and I was just thinking, 'Mate, as a comedian you really ought to realise that everyone is sick of that joke now.'

I don't really know much about him either, but I agree, too many comedians! The main show has enough 'comedy.' YF shouldn't really be too much comedy IMO. I want serious discussion about the candidates, the opinions of the fired candidate, and unseen footage.
It doesn't have to be a comedian but it needs someone with a quick wit and an eye for comedy to do host it. |

Romesh Ranganathan seems to be flavour of the month ATM, he's on everything.

Reality TV after-shows like You're Fired are never serious discussions. You need a bit of light relief after the quasi-serious boardroom stuff at the end of the main show. If it was a serious analysis of the main show it would attract a completely different, and possibly much smaller, audience.
It doesn't have to be a comedian but it needs someone with a quick wit and an eye for comedy to do host it. Quite frequently, they actually only had two panelists rather than three - I liked that, it made for something a bit more low-key. |

But that was the original premise of YF. The Apprentice is unique!
EDIT: Apologies - I just realised that you were responding to allafix and not me. Sorry - just logged on after I woke up, wasn't paying attention

Jack was on of the original group of "alternative" comedians and is still "current".
Given your comment about Jack Dee I don't think your assessment of who is funny and who isn't is that representative. You're welcome to your own opinion of course. I think Jack Dee is a good choice as host. I like Romesh too, but he does divide opinion in other TV comedy threads. Anyway, I'd rather have different guest comedians each week, as before. |

But that was how it was originally, back in 2006 with Adrian Chiles. There was still a lot of comedy - the panel got on really well and there was some very amusing moments, but they also found the time to discuss the business side of things. And the panelists always added something constructive, and weren't just there to show off.
Quite frequently, they actually only had two panelists rather than three - I liked that, it made for something a bit more low-key. |

I really liked Adrian Chiles presenting. They stuck to talking about the candidates and there were plenty of laugh out loud moments. Haven't been a fan since Dara O'Brian took over as host. I think Jack Dee will be a massive improvement.

We'll have to wait and see how this pans out, but it doesn't sound great.
I hope to proved wrong. I often like this spin off show better than the main show.

Agreed, in fact Chiles was the best presenter of his three roles at the BBC-One Show, Apprentice and MOTD 2 with the promise of other stuff too. He took a punt with ITV, and although I would imagine his bank balance is pretty healthy, it didn't work out all that well.
They did through a chunk of money at him but didn't he divorce afterwards? I wonder if they thought about rehireing him? (if he's not under a handcuffs deal) |

In what way is he relevant? He is no longer a big name, the BBC themselves dropped him from Live At The Apollo several years ago.
I disagree that he's no longer a big name. He may not be to you, but he still tours, still appears on TV and chairs Clue on the radio. If the BBC had dropped him, as you suggest, why would they give him this show? |
