They should precede these by having a bell ring, with the producers wearing leotards while they hold up placards with the dates.

Yet ITV has the cheek to complain about the X Factor/Strictly clashes...

It's no biggie - the clashes don't hurt the viewers - they can always record one or watch catch-up. But both channels are dented when there's a clash, as was shown again last night when both ED and EE suffered. I doubt the ratings for the flipping Rugby, if it ever finally starts, will match up to what ED gets anyway, so gawd knows why ITV were so keen to have it.

I remember that last time the was a 15 MINUTE clash and a poster described ITV as "scum, pure scum"
Please lets have some more of these totally rational comments this time round!
I can imagine calls for ITV to be closed down this time round.

They won't listen. Just give me 5 minutes in a room with them will do.

Yet ITV has the cheek to complain about the X Factor/Strictly clashes...
ITV have made it clear they want Strictly away from The X factor. They have even tried to push it around which the BBC are having none of an rightly so. The BBC made it clear they can't promise The two shows don't clash in the same way ITV won't with Emmerdale and EastEnders.

It's the ITV soap that is getting hurt more. People actually turned off at 7:30 last night.
The BBC 3 repeat of EastEnders rated higher than usual at almost 600k and the episode is likely to come out above Emmerdale in the officials anyway (Even before taking I Player into account) give them a little more time and ITV will just run Emmerdale back into the ground like they did with the weekly clashes in 2005/2006/2007 which then caused them to scrap the Hour Tuesday episodes and introduce Thursday at 8

ITV have no clue what they are doing. It's no wonder it's shares are falling and it's way behind ''Channel of the year'' BBC 1.

Takeaway shows like Corrie and Emmerdale and they are left with shows like Flockstars and River Monsters propping up prime time. Weekends are fillers until X Factor (Which is declining),BGT and IAC returns.

EastEnders should be raising its ratings now the autumn is coming and the storylines are very strong but these clashes are denting its weekly ratings.

It's only a handful of episodes out of the year. Neither programme will suffer greatly, we don't all watch both, and there are plenty of options for catching up. Neither channel should be expected to tailor its schedule to the other's IMO and these days the odd clash is not really a big deal with all of the other options.

I watch both shows and love both shows. I don't have digital TV so these constant pathetic clashes by itv are just ridiculous and petty. They don't give a crap about viewers who don't subscribe to the digital TV phenomenon. It pisses me off somewhat.

I'll be turning off Emmerdale to watch Eastenders in any case. ITV are treating Emmerdale like the poor relation of corrie aswell which is beyond annoying

ITV are trying to make room for Coronation Street on Thursday, so this is why Emmerdale is going to suffer. All ITV need to do to stop Emmerdale suffering and clashing with Eastenders, is to put coronation Street on in the 8.30 slot and Emmerdale in the 7pm and 8pm slot on Thursday. Shame on ITV for treating Emmerdale like crap, just to make room for their pet soap Coronation Street.

isnt it 97% i could be wrong though.

I reckon ITV hope the BBC will make 8:30pm Thursday it's regular slot So Corrie could pinch the 7:30 slot for a 6th Corrie. I think the BBC should grin and bear it and not move out of the slot except for one off editions.

I wasn't seriously suggesting this btw

People will watch what they want to watch regardless of these soap clashes - some enjoy both or one or the other. You can only really watch one at a time anyway, so you'll normally go with the one you prefer or enjoy the most
