all that aside, surely the point is she hasn't discovered how to use the electric kettle (that aren't used in America blah blah) for 12 days?

I think you take things a little too seriously, a lot of posts here are tongue-in-cheek, it's not meant to be hurtful or a personal attack for heavens sake. Have a cup of Typhoo and relax

"Yanks" is a derogatory word for Americans. If you're going to use derogatory words to describe me, I will respond. And not happily. Count on it.

If she doesn't drink tea, why would she have used the kettle?

What's "oh lord" about it? It's a fact. One that I've made before. Why claim she has a degree in something she doesn't, and then slam her because she's not more competent in that field?

so she hasn't made anyone else a coffee or tea, or herself a coffee or boiled water for rice or potatoes or vegetables or any other kitchen based activity for 12 days?

Quite possibly not. If it's an appliance she's not used to using, why would she even think to use it for any of those things? She'd cook them in the manner she's accustomed to cooking them, and using the method she's used to.

Well, you know. I think you guys must have better instant than we do. Like I said, you hardly even see it here. Not sure if they carry it in every grocery store. My great-grandmother (and I think she died in the 70s) was the last person I knew who drank instant ... and it was absolutely vile.

But she is clearly fully capable of boiling potatoes because she has an eight year old daughter to take care of and she's not daft.
The tweet must have missed out the context.

I think the Americans have the right idea. I much prefer tea from a stove top kettle.

"oh lord" because she has a degree in culinary arts and you're nitpicking about it.

i haven't checked the accreditation of her school...and if you have, then you care way more than you should.

all i know is that i saw her cooking on her shows, so i'm sure she can bake and boil potatoes.

No, I can't believe that it tastes like what I've had. You wouldn't drink it. Your tea's really great - why would anyone drink vile instant coffee over that? If it was real coffee, sure, I'd prefer it. But between instant and tea, I'd go for the tea every time.

Yes, it was the Charlotte Crosby series.

It was Courtney Stodden that couldn't use the kettle. She put an oxo cube inside it.

Fair enough. I have a coffee strainer at home, so that's just like what you'd get in a cafe, but some instant is ok. There's quite a wide variation between brands.

Oh dear. I looked the school up. Never mind on the whole thing. It's one of those rip-off for-profit "schools" where you pay through the nose for some sort of "degree" that you can't apply in the real world. They're in deep problem with the federal government because they give out all these huge student loans (of government money) that no one can possibly repay.
