Does anyone use a facial serum and/or a facial oil?

If so which would you recommend?

Use the Vitamin C serum for now and see how you get on with that. Yes there are some crazy priced beauty products out there!

You can make your own vitamin C serum cheaply, just make small amounts and keep in the fridge since it oxidises quickly.

Google is your friend for various methods of making it.

I love this one. It's more than your budget but it's economical because it lasts so so so long. I've had my bottle nearly a year and barely made a dent in it.

I'm using decleor Iris and Neroli oils at the moment and they smell beautiful, also Elemis super serum. On their own they are quite expensive but you can normally get them in a QVC, TSV and then you get a lot of really good products at a fab price.

I'm using bare minerals active night serum and their 5 oils oil. The night serum is fantastic, the oil I'm not so sure about as it leaves a slight film on the skin.

No 7 nourishing facial oil is very good for the money. As good as Clarins orchid oil imo.

I like the Boots Botanics Facial oil at around a tenner.

L'Oreal Age Perfect do both a serum and a facial oil which I use. They sink into the skin very well and the facial oil smells gorgeous but light.

Lushness what do you think about vit E oil? I use it before applying my Monsia day or night moisturiser. It works very well together and is not greasy at all, presumably this is because my skin is on the dry side but my neck skin has really tightened and smoothed out. I'm putting it on my hands before bed in the hope that they will smooth out a little and look less "old" or do you think I'm dreaming?

It's a good skin nourisher, great for this time of year when it's getting cold and you have to amp up the moisture in your products. Can't hurt to use some on your hands too, I always neglect my hands. I have hand creams but I never bother but I need to start!

I've always used oils under my moisturiser, but I've been reading that you should do it the other way round. Apparently oil seals in the moisturiser and can sink in through the moisturiser, but moisturiser can not get through the oil. There are quite a few articles on the Internet, just wonder what other people's thoughts are on this, as it would appear I've been doing it wrong all these years!

Thank you for sharing MaisieMooMoo - I just read this also so I will definitely be changing my routine of applying my Moinsia day & night moisturizer first and then applying the vit E oil.
This is why I like this forum - I keep learning new things everyday!

ALDI face creams and serums are fantastic. Better than the expensive ones I have used in the past. Really cheap too, about £4 for the most expensive one.

The Boots Protect serum - £24 but often on offer 3 for the price of two. And Judith Williams Rose serum (QVC). Beautiful scent and leaves skin feeling very soft.
