Sanyo CE37LD33-B
I have a Sanyo CE37LD33-B. Last night it appeared to switch off on it's own, now I think it is really dead.
![]() The standby light shows but that is all. It's about 4/5yrs old (I think) was second hand, I've had it about 3 years. Son is popping round at some point to check it out. I'm partially sighted and have arthritis, so my tinkering abilities are limited these days. Getting to the point now. Can anyone tell me if there is anything in particular that can be checked out or any known problems ? Given the sort of costs for just simple repairs is it going to work out better if we just go to somewhere like Richer sounds and spend about £300 and get a new TV with 6 year guarantee? |

A common problem with older TVs is failing capacitors in the power supply. If you know what to look for and it is a capacitor issue then fixing the problem is not too hard if you are reasonably competent with a soldering iron. You can get replacement capacitors pretty easily form online stores like CPC.
However if it is not a simple (ish) fault like that or you have zero skill with a soldering iron then might be worth cutting your losses and replacing it. |

Many thanks, son's brill with the soldering (builds and repairs computers for friends)and CPC is 5 mins from where I live. If it can't be fixed at least Richer Sounds is about 10mins away.
