Cheese slicer to slice spuds. Stick slices on some kitchen paper as water is the anti-crisp!

(Just had a thought.. would a salad spinner dry the slices, or make mash?)

It sounds like a lot of effort for little return.

So is making chips vs going to the chippy

But sometimes it's the only way to get marmite flavored crisps. Or whatever flavor you fancy. Or have game chips. Or even just ready salted crisps made with real salt. Was somewhat puzzled to find some crisps with 'salt flavor', not plain'ol sodium chloride.

Use potato flour. Or instant mash potato mix.

Mix with a little vegetable oil and water to make a pastry then roll very thin and cut into crisp size circles. You can then either deep fry or fry them in a frying pan or wok. Cook until 'golden brown' but not to high a heat as they'll end up soggy.

Drain well by putting on a piece of kitchen roll to soak up excess oil.

Add any seasoning. The beef flavor you get in lidls noodles works well

Nb: if you can't get potato flour instant mash potato mix is just as good but you need to break the bits into Powder.

You could also add the flavour to the pastry mix!

Invest in a mandolin slicer. Slice your potatoes, put them on some tissue on a plate, oil, and season, and then heat in the microwave till done.

Remember to turn them though..

I'm lazy, I suppose you could oven bake them or whatever.
