Of course, then her bra would ping off for the bloke to pick it up while she did her Peggy cackle..
Lol.

I can see similarities, they are both glamorous ladies who like to be in control of their families who are into dodgy dealings.

But I think Claudette is less of a bigot and has a more caring heart. She was there for Les and Pam when they lost their son, she is a nurse and took in waifs and strays. You still wouldn't want to get in her way when it comes to her family though.

Peggy was a lot more controlling, she even chose Phils outfits for him

I don't like her in either role. She's a poor actress. I can't understand how she's onto her fourth role in EastEnders.
I completely disagree! She's a great actress. She's also a very good looking woman. I like the way she carries herself. I've loved all her scenes as Claudette which I like her in the best. Claudette strikes me as being a very shrewd and clever woman and I can't wait to see more of how she intends to bring down Phil Mitchell. Imagine a woman finally bringing the poison potato down!! OK she's got Vincent but it seems she's the brains of the plot against Mitchell. I'm really looking forward to more of Claudette, I think she's great!

I never knew that Peggy picked out Phil's clothes. Maybe Kathy and Gavin should do the same for Ian and Sharon.

Sharon's big cross over / wrap front tops are fashionable at the moment thanks to Eastenders. I've seen them on Oxford Street in London's west end and there's a fair number of them on Amazon (and they're not particularly cheap on Amazon either). I have seen people wearing them when I've been out and about. So, people seem to like them.

I have this strange fascination with Claudette's ample chest at the moment. It's just *there* each time she's on EE Can't take me eyes off em. Weird because I don't ever remember Ellen Thomas being so busty in her other roles, e.g. Liz Webb from Teachers.

I'm pretty sure there was a scene once where that happened but maybe I'm confusing it with Early Doors.

Maybe it's where Kathy and Gavin have been hiding all these years, in Claudettes bra.

She has a fantastic figure! Her chest is amazing. I like the way she is dressed on Eastenders too as her clothes make the most of her figure. Claudette is a very attractive woman

I think they're hideous myself. I was watching the Kathy Red Button special and looking at the costume designers when they were interviewed about not knowing who the clothes for the live episode were, and I was wondering which one Tish had pissed off and why!

I'm not usually impressed with the wardrobe department at EE (burn Ian's friggin damn shirt already) but yes they do seem to be dressing Claudette really well.

I couldn't understand what they were going on about, someone came out and had a go at them because they were dressing for a man but had brought clothes for a woman (Unless it was Les ) but they were dressing for Kathy anyway,

That's kind of understandable given his mental state.

Right, I must get off the internet and stop talking about Ian Beale's sartorial choices.

Exits weeping at the hollow shell her life has become...

Hardly hollow, you bring humour on here and that is always appreciated.

Don't remember Grace, wasn't really watching then. Claudette just seems like Peggy to me.
She seems a lot more peggish than Carmel does.

I don't remember much of Grace except that she was deeply religious and wanted Mercy to go to Nigeria. I think she was more of a bit-part player whereas Claudette is more mainstream.

I wonder if Claudette & Peggy knew each other? They must have done?

I was indifferent to her but I liked her when she told Ronnie some home truths. Ronnie is a terrible mother and I cheered on when she said "SHAME ON YOU. SHAME"

I think there's more scope and potential in Claudette, but it's still early days. It's just really sad storyblocking and months of introductions has meant we haven't seen her move to the square yet and get to know her character

I agree that they have really dragged their heels on this one, DTC was stating what a huge character she was to become, and was hoping she would fill the void left by Peggy and Pat's departure, yet we have hardly seen enough of her since first introduced in March to even develop an opinion.

yes I saw them yesterday when shopping, saw what looked like a nice top, pulled it off the rack and saw it was a wrap thing, remembered how it makes Sharon look and promptly put it back

I really liked the colours/pattern aswell

I think claudette is fab - she has the family loyalty that EE is known for, but she seems to be a lot more grounded and in control that Peggy ever was. She is obviously a very loyal and caring friend (the Cokers) but no way would you want to cross her (the Mitchell's)

Sharon is the new Matriarch of the Mitchells alebit in Walford anyway so it could be Claudette v Sharon.
