We're talking girls as in category, not gender. Sam Bailey was in the overs.

Hmm, well, he talks about gaps in the market, but I believe what he actually does is look at who/what has sold shedloads of records/concert tickets in the past year. Apart from One Direction, that would surely be while male solo singers (Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran). I'm not sure if there's anyone who might conceivably come into this category. Maybe Che? Does he write songs?

x factor doesn't really support that style of act however , if they had gone down the x factor route they probably wouldn't have even made the live shows

Absolutely. No act should ever be judged on anything other than there talent. Sex, looks or skin colour should never come into it.

Sadly, not everyone thinks like that

Err, no, DUNDEEBOY clearly said "No white female has ever won"

I thought it was quite clear from the context what he meant. I mean, if you want to be pedantic you could site three quarters of Little Mix

Never mind. The point stands, it could very much mean that Cowell's after a solo white girl (as opposed to female 'over') as a winner this year. I imagine all will become clear once the heavy-handed steering of audience opinion kicks in.

But your point about giving her a chance is fair enough. I usually take until we're into the live shows before evaluating contestants properly. Which is also why it's funny how you can spot a Jeref obsession before they've even sung a note.”

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the forum as a whole. The Fleur obsession last year was a little annoying.

I've noticed that other poster and his fixations too, bit odd but it takes all sorts.

Is belting out someone else's songs talent? For me talent is someone who can write their own material, play instruments and play live. There's a million people in the UK who can sing ok but a lot fewer can write a tune. As for looks of course it's important, you can't sell a artist who looks like the back end of a bus ( admittedly Ed Sheeran is an exception) .

Looking forward to seeing her again at Judges houses. Hope that she will get a good song choice that suits her style of singing.

Really like this from kiera, and just outside the top 100 on itunes which is no mean feat without any major backing or promotion. Shows the potential that she has.
