Biggest Soap Disappointment?

I noticed that in the Youtube clip of EE's Bobby being revealed as Lucy's killer, people dubbed it as the 'biggest soap disappointment' in the comments. When I first saw the end of the flashback episode I was a little disappointed but after the fully live episode I was fine with it and I'm happy they went with this decision.

So this got me wondering, for any soap, what has been the biggest disappointment? It could have been a secret/reveal, a twist, a casting choice, bad acting or a storyline which could've been done better (not including things like hyping up midnight announcements).

Probably the resolution of the Moldavia Massacre in Dynasty - no significant character deaths despite all the blood, no alexis, just packed off home after a lecture about the evils of money from the Revolutionaries and then it took half a season to properly go away.

In EE remember thinking that Pauline's death was poorly done. I was expecting it to be a lot more interesting, but the whole thing didn't justify her status as a legend. Same goes for Pat too I suppose, but I wasn't watching much by that point.

A lot of affairs over the years have had me groaning, as sometimes it seems random people are just put together. Or even having an affair in the first place seems to go against the character' nature,

I also dislike when characters marry, break up, get back together ad infinitum.

Den Watts' comeback? The immediate impact was huge, but once he settled back in he failed to deliver in 2004. Not Leslie Grantham's fault entirely (though his off screen antics were a source of frustration) since EE was meant to be going through a lot of problems behind the scenes.

The fact that Denise's backstory has never been properly explored is a disappointment for me. Why is she so distant from her sister, why does she think that she's never had a significant father figure in her life but has two younger half sisters.

I am with you on that

In fact, i hated Den's return so much, I actually didn't watch EE for a few years. I never even began watching it full time until 2010. Prior to that, i was a part time watcher. It did a lot of damage for me as a viewer, as well as other parts of the show.

I was looking forward to the return of Sarah and Bethany to Coronation Street, but I was disappointed. The actresses are very poor, and the storyline ridiculous.

Cindy's bipolar is a joke now, one of hollyoaks worst storylines

I can't wait for Robbie Jackson to return, I think I'm the only one though 😂

Kat and Alfie's 2nd stint
The Bobby reveal (although when I came to understand the extra scope it gave the story, I completely changed my mind)

God yes, that was mine. I could not believe how much I hated Brendan's prison exit, what a load of diabolical cobblers! Massive anti-climax. And a horrible defeated ending for a man who'd spent his childhood being raped while his sister had her head up her own selfish arse.

Right up to the last 10 mins, I thought maybe he would break out and go on the run. But no. Took the rap for Cheryl's crime, she fricked off with her rich boyfriend without giving a single shoite, prison door slammed, the end. Hated it then, hate the memory of it now.

Should have died, that would have been epic. Or gone on the run. Anything, but that was rubbish.

Rosie Webster leaving Corrie. Her magnificent bosom would be a godsend in the currently awful show.

Sharon's return on Eastenders this time around
Antony Cotton getting yet another new contract from Coronation Street
Hearing that Robbie and Wellard the 2nd will be appearing in Eastenders. I should point out I have nothing against the dog, he just has a silly name and he belongs to Robbie
Grace Black leaving Hollyoaks. I loved her and I hope she returns.
Vincent Hubbard on Eastenders being beaten up by Phil then telling him he "respects him" and then changing "Pearls" back to The Albert

And this.
That bloody trailer promised so much and the programme delivered so little.

And this!

The main one for me under DTC which really ground my gears was Sharon's ten minute reaction to Phil and Dennis and her 'revenge'. If I ever met him in a lift he'd never hear the end of it!

Dean's comeback in EE. He had so much potential anyway but they just ruined his character. Ironically, making him part of the biggest storyline of the year was the worst thing they could have done, in my opinion.
