Some of EEs exits lately have been so terrible and rushed. They've had literally 0 impact. For characters which were quite a big part of the show at one stage.

I also hated Corrie's recent fire resulting in the death of Kal and Maddie. When Liz told Tracey, Amy was in there with a evil smile... That's your own granddaughter love! Not to mention Leanne accepting Kal's wedding proposal half way down the ladder. If you hadn't stopped, he'd still be alive for goodness sakes!

In HO, when they ended the Carmel/Barny romance. It was developing into a rather sweet little plot.

Carl King in Emmerdale being killed off.
I agree. I had a feeling it was going to be him that was murdered (the way they had him act like a complete tool the last couple of months beforehand) but kept telling myself they would never kill off such an important character. Loved him apart from that.

That's a good one. Not my greatest disappointment, but all of those students leaving one by one was - Scott, Annalise, Rob, Barney. Pretty much everything about HO from 2013 onwards was one big fat disappointment, tbh.

Another one - Robbie getting flared to death on Emmerdale, just as he got really likeable, and just as things could have got interesting between him and Finn. Massive shame.

The Victoria Court Fire was a very big disappointment, considering they said it was going to be bigger than the tram crash!

The minibus crash was also disappointing, considering the actual stunt was well done IMO.

The fact that Denise's backstory has never been properly explored is a disappointment for me. Why is she so distant from her sister, why does she think that she's never had a significant father figure in her life but has two younger half sisters.
I agree I would like to see this explored.

Not THE biggest disappointment, but the others I would say have been covered already, so: Zainab's exit. It was awful- abrupt and rushed and massively OOC. I feel like the OOCness goes on to this day. It was understandable that she'd go to Pakistan when her daughter lived there (though not why she'd go there instead of Birmingham where her son and granddaughter lived and avoid Kamil basically losing touch with his dad) but now it makes zero sense. I suppose it's to explain why she doesn't come for major events, but if her exit had been handled better in the first place, I'd have less of an issue.

Completely agree - such a waste of a character that had so much potential.

Agreed, now that Kathy is back it's a shame Pat is not there to see it.

I have I feeling we haven't seen the biggest disappointment yet. I reckon Stacey's key thing will be right up there but for now, yes that Bobby being Lucy's killer is the most PATHETIC and biggest disappointment so far .

Bloody Ross Barton should've stayed deceased
I agree 100%. I'm hoping he gets together with Debbie and when Charley goes on maternity leave he'll go with the character of Debbie, whatever her maternity exit storyline is.

Does anything really top a whole year's storylines being just a dream from Dallas?

Danielle being killed off. At the time I was very young and very gutted.

Killing off Gennie & splitting up her & Nikhil ... not on!

Ross apparently being "in love" with Debbie (!) after the brilliant, brilliant stuff with Donna. I bloody loved him, but Ross is being completely ruined for me now, I couldn't care less what he does anymore.

Which is why DTC needs to bring her back. Syed and Christian in contrast got a really good, happy exit and wrapped up their story on Walford perfectly as they walked into the distance.

There is still so much left for Zainab to do especially with Shabnam's current plight. I hope the repeated mentions of her name a couple of weeks ago and that she wasn't showing up will be explored, and lead to an eventual return.

I wouldn't say this was the biggest disappointment per se, when considering the return of Den Watts in 2003 or Kat and Alfie's comeback in 2010. But Dean Wicks' comeback was massacred by the rape plot. Matt Di Angelo improved as an actor and had so much potential to fit in with the Carters. Not only has the rape storyline been completely dragged out, Dean's character is permanently irreparable. His current romance with Roxy is hard to watch and he's really not needed for the Jade storyline (Shirley, Buster and Shabnam can carry it). Matt reportedly threatened to quit the show, perhaps he should've gone with his instinct. I believe Ross Kemp threatened the same action when there was a plan to have Grant rape Tiffany. It was dropped.

Yep, that's another one. I've gone from absolutely loving him to not giving a single toss. Doesn't make me smile or laugh any more. Should have died, and hope he leaves soon.

Another one: Aaron coming back. Cannot stand him. Gave up watching last time he was all over the show. Am getting close to that now.

Seem to have spent most of the last year being disappointed with ED really. Oh well.

Matt said that DTC said he could have an A storyline or a B storyline where he just orders pints in the Vic. It sounds as though if he had said no to the rape storyline, he would have not had a storyline...although I wouldn't mind having that - a good character being able to stay, rather than wrecking a character completely

Awful decision that caused irreversible damage to the character

Completely agree. I thought the Ross and Donna storyline was really well done. Next thing, he is 'in love' with Debbie. I also didn't like when he tried to use Noah, in attempting to split up Cain and Moira. I don't care what he does anymore either. When he got out of hospital, and immediately went around to see Debbie, I thought 'here we go again', yawn.

It's a relief that Charley Webb is up the duff, meaning Debbie will have to be written out fairly soon, and Ross can move on.

Bet Lynch's comeback in Corrie - the show had changed so much, it was a shame that her style just didn't fit in anymore.

Dennis Tanner's comeback in Corrie - they foolishly didn't know what to do with him once he was there. Such a wasted opportunity.

Any over-hyped BIG episode which usually turns out to be a wet squib.

Soap actors flitting from one soap to another - it just doesn't work eg the current Erica & Robert castings in Corrie. There's one exception to this but I wont mention it here as I'm thinking of starting a thread on it.

The demise of Brookside.
