EE no longer offering NHS employees 30% discount
Had a conversation with a EE customer service ant in a EE shop today and they inform me that the 30% discount is no longer available on new contracts for the NHS worker! Can anyone confirm ?

They don't provide it directly. You have to order through Heath Service Discounts

It will also devalue your future comments as it is now proven you just type the first thing that pops into your head. Unless you have a source that gave you and validates this opinion? Infact its not a opinion is it, its a fairy tale lol. |

Seems a bit unfair to be honest. Unless the gov is paying EE some compensation (Seems unlikely).

Yeah, you may want to start researching your comments in future. Trying to make people believe EE do not offer other public sector workers 30% discount even though they do could be seen as simple trolling.

I said they offer "other" public sectors a discount I never mentioned the DWP. But as you mentioned the DWP get their discount from Vodaphone. Just curious (post history) what year did you start work for the DWP?
And I'm just informing you the DWP doesn't receive at discount from EE |

Nurses, doctors and healthcare assistants etc should be offered more than other public sector workers. They save people's live for a living. No job more important than that.

I'm pretty sure all public sector workers could say the same. For example without your bins being emptied you probably couldn't live a decent life, that would probably impact more than not being able to see your doctor. Everyone has a job that is important to some extent, so let's not go knocking the contribution people make to life. As for discount it is unfair as if you can do it for 1 you should be able to give everyone 30% off. |

What are you on? Can you point me to a link where it shows all these public sector organisations and the discount they get? Just I know people in those 3 professions I listed on EE - they never got any discount nor were aware of any.
I presume some departments can do their own but unlikely knowing the Cabinet Office these days I think. |

I am sure its changed immensely since the days of Orange, the so called perk list was massive and it included most public sector organisations like the police, army, civil servants. Ask to see if the discount is available, worst they can say is no. |

It all depends on the arrangements, EE often gives these discounts to staff of corporate customers, in this respect the NHS. EE has two legacy brands which had extensive contracts with the public sector. Often you will find city councils or police forces afforded the discount, usually because there is an existing relationship. Its free custom for EE in effect, they wave a cushy discount and staff in the public sector lap it up.

It also happens in the private sector. When I worked for a large customer of O2 they offered discount under the O2 open scheme to all employees (and upto 6 friends).
I digress , most of the the big boys offer discounts to staff of corporate customers, the only network that doesn't (so far as I know) is Three. I would surmise that is down to the fact they don't have the contracts for a great amount of corporate customers. The area is/was always dominated by Vodafone and EE (formerly Orange), O2 used to be massive until they started hemorrhaging big business who then went over to VF. Point I am making is there are discounts which people may not know about, its always worth asking. Some friends and family of EE staff get upto 40% now, makes me jealous.... |

You can get discounts on many. I just got £2000 off a new car. I knew about the discount but most of my colleagues didn't.

My former employer was a Vodafone customer (and a major supplier of equipment to them, in all likelihood) - employees got some sort of discount on the service and on phones (you had to buy it outright). I don't remember how much, because I would never go on Vodafone anyway (and I was eligible for a free company-paid plan because of my role) Quote:

But it's probably best not to turn it into the usual "OUR DOCTORS SHOULD BE PAID MORE THAN FOOTBALLERS" BS that is all over facebook |

Where I work we get get the discount from Vodafone, its a rather bizarre setup I have to say, the contracts are organised through the corporate team for personal use. My employer pays nothing towards it I should add. |
