Stuart Blackburn is now more considerate than Kate Oates

When Stuart joined Emmerdale, he axed or at least drove out several of the cast. Quite a few of their exit storylines were botched. The one I found hardest was Kirsty-Leigh Porter as Roz. Admittedly I now know that they might have had a better understanding, given that she came back for a guest episode 6 months later.

You may be aware that I took Kirsty-Leigh's exit badly enough to leave Emmerdale behind for a while. Later, Stuart moved to Corrie and Kate Oates succeeded him as Emmerdale producer.

History repeated itself at Corrie, as Stuart's arrival encouraged several of the cast to leave, more than average for Corrie. However, he axed few if any of the cast. Even the 2 casualties from Tracy's fire at Carla's flat, Kal and Maddie, were played by actors who had resigned.

Conversely, when Kate had the helicopter tragedy, of their 2 casualties, Charlie Hardwick playing Val had resigned but Alicya Eyo who played Ruby had not.

Unfortunately, I have found the exits of Roz and Ruby hard to accept. This has led to me suspending Emmerdale viewing immediately in Roz's case and eventually in Ruby's case.

I now consider Stuart to be more considerate than Kate. At least he now respects that the soaps are our programmes to watch rather than their empires to tamper with whimsically.

You stopped watching because they axed Roz and Ruby? Please tell me you're joking? .
