CS does Anna have a lift?

As I remember she lives in an upstairs flat, so how the heck do they get Lizzy and. her wheelchair up there? Those motorised ones are blinking heavy! Lizzy could be carried up obviously, but that wheelchair, no don't think so.

It's Izzy and yes they have a stair lift as has been mentioned before.

It's an ongoing joke about Izzys access to the flat as it certainly doesn't have a lift. I guess we're supposed to assume that she was carried up and the wheelchair carried up afterwards, it's ridiculous but there really is no other explanation.

Similarly, in Hollyoaks, Will was parylised yet still able to access a first floor duplex flat, as well as it's upstairs bedrooms despite living there only with his girlfriend

EDIT - re the above post, I've never seen or heard them mention a stairlift but it would make more sense.

It's been mentioned on screen that they have a lift as Owen talked about having installed one when they moved into the flat.

When they had the recent party, she was is a small wheelchair - not the big motorised one, so maybe they leave a foldup one for her in the hall and she uses a stair lift, leaving her big one at the bottom.

Leaving it outside in the street? As far as I remember the stairs go down to the front door.

There must be some room at the bottom.

They talked about installing a chair lift soon after they moved in.

Also, i think she keeps a light weight wheelchair up in the flat and leaves the bulky, motorized one downstairs when she visits. Not quite sure how she goes about securing it from theft though, that close to Barlows Buys Tracy would probably try and sell it!

I think it was in the episode set on the bnight they moved in. Owen said something to Izzy about being sorry about how they'd had to get her up and what she was sitting in but he'd get the stair lift sorted out asap.

I know its been mentioned many times before but memories seem to be short .. Izzy, along with Cherylee who plays her, has a condition called EDS. This affects the formation of collagen in the body meaning most joints hyper-extend and can dislocate/sublux on a regular basis. She is able to walk short distances, and possibly climb stairs, but will be in a constant level of pain

not everyone who is in a wheelchair is paralyzed

Izzy is just in a long line characters in the Corrie who serve no purpose... They are just there

When they did that recent surprise visit and Gary answered the bell and jokingly said his dad was coming up.... Instantly he opened the door to izzy.. I think she transports.... No other explanation!

Thought this thread was going to be about something else entirely...

I'm not sure that has been disputed on this thread has it? I think it is fairly well established now that Izzy can stand and walk short distances.

I do remember there was a fuss about it in the live episode when she stood for a while in the rovers but then details of her condition were given which explained it.

However, i don't think that effects whether she'd have a stair lift or not. Not everybody that has a stair lift in their home is paralysed - in fact i'd say most are in the same position as Izzy or even more mobile. They can get round short distances on a level but can't rely on being able to get up and down the stairs so have it installed to improve the quality of their life.

Pretty sure it was actually Tim.

I can't actually remember Izzy having been in the flat since just before Faye gave Miley up. I might have glazed over and missed something though, it's not exactly riveting tv presently.
