Two is stretching it already, however i would not put it past this producer pulling the same trick again

A third time would be highly embarrassing for the shows credibility

A lot of eastenders fans seem obsessed about getting back dead characters .

That's why I would not rule out it happening again

I tend to agree with you OP, however, the only other one I think they could bring back with credibility and easily is Cindy Beale, she supposedly died during childbirth in prison. It would be easy enough to claim that the authorities faked her death due to a threat on her life within the prison system. They could probably just about get away with that but really I think two is enough.

No thank you. I loved Pat but we saw her die on screen of cancer.

Den and Kathy's work/worked well. I think Kathy's comeback storyline is far better then Den's tbh.

I know we all would love pat back, but never going to happen, unless a dallas style dream which is just going to destroy the show. I hate kirkwood so much!

There's a part of me that wishes that we could just forget "that thing" with Pat and just have an episode where Ian walks into the cafe and thanks Pat for helping out whilst he niped to... then she has to nip off back home for...

I wish that episode never happened either, in fact anything to do with Bryan Kirkwood should be erased from EastEnders history!

I think it a never say never scenario, as times change the show is adapting and changing to keep up with creating outlandish plots and surprises to keep viewers hooked, it's in away becoming more Americanized in the soap opera genre.

I think the days of kitchen sink, character driven drama is etching more and more away from what the original premise of the show is.

Den Watts and Kathy Beale are obviously the big two who were presumed dead for years but there has been loads of other characters who 'came back from the dead' so to speak. Frank Butcher, Nick Cotton, Denise Fox, Garry Hobbs, Danielle Mitchell - all characters who were thought to be dead who turned out to be very much alive.

Poor Ian, they should have Lucy and Pete join them and all tap dance into his living room til he totally flips!

the shows previous producers made massive cock ups in killing off iconic characters. especially the off screen ones.. kathy and cindy. to kill either of these at all never mind offscreen was just obsurd !!
eastenders has always suffered from dodgy writers though.

I wouldn't put it past that producer to try another gimmick. BBC always appoint the wrong type of producers for the show you can't undo Kathy's death just because you feel like it that's what he's doing.

I disagree. Although deep down I don't think either of them would have let their kids think they were dead for 10 years, it's far more believable that a dodgy character like Den would do it than Kathy.

There does need to be a lot more explanation for Kathy before it becomes believable. At the moment it just seems like the bad man made her do it. We probably won't get a full explanation until she meets Ian though.
