Exactly, he came across as very childish and bitter last night.

It's strange, because I think if I met him in real life or I was in the house with him, I'd really like him.

However, as a viewer I'm starting to feel like I'm almost being a little manipulated. On the surface he seems like an all round good guy, a bit of a Cheggers feel. He can have a laugh with people, doesn't take anything too seriously, he's a good shoulder to cry on for the other Brits. Under the surface though, I think there is a huge control dynamic going on.

I think because Farrah has been Enemy Number One in the house (not saying it's not warranted!) and so much air time has gone towards the Jenna/Farrah saga, I feel we're missing the more subtle devious parts to some other Housemates personalities. Although I actually think Bobby is the only one of the Brits that is really playing the game, intentionally or unintentionally.

As a viewer, I was glad that he said what he said to Farrah. It was true. It's not so much about what he's saying about them, it's more about how, when and why he says it. The only people that have really had any conflict in the house (apart from F and J) are Austin, Natasha, Janice, James and Bobby. I don't feel Natasha or Austin's outbursts are predetermined at all, they're just a little hot headed. Janice is Janice and James avoids conflict, or tries to defuse it quickly.

Bobby seems to relish and delight in it. He's not stupid, he timed his attack on Farrah well and was not aggressive vocally in it. There was definitely strategy there, he knows she's not especially liked on the outside. It was almost too calm., too measured. When most people have a conflict with someone else, they either retreat or loose their cool a bit.

It's had me notice how he is with the rest of the house. He's somehow taken the Alpha spot and I didn't even notice, how or when. I've noticed how he manipulated the Brits, again, not necessarily knowing he's doing it. Even James, who is fairly perceptive about other people, seems not to have recognised this.

That being said, I want him to stay in, he's fascinating to watch. I much prefer the Machiavellian Housemates than the "baddies" that just shout and swear.

Minority poster here who thinks Bobby is brilliant.

It would be interesting to see what charity work the Gruesome Twosome do. Bobby does more than his fair share (as does Jim Davidson, O.B.E.)

Perhaps the delightful Farrah could donate 10% of her molding (moulding?) income to a deserving cause?

Insightful post. Bobby is definitely playing the game, and as a stage performer he does it well. He's used to hecklers and how to deal with them and that's what he's doing with Farrah, treating her as a heckler at one of his shows. The trouble is that Farrah is a heckler that doesn't let up, and he occasionally lets it get to him and he loses it a bit. I think he's basically quite a nice man, he's just overplaying his part at times.

Same - add to that a dead career and you get a deeply unpleasant man, seething with bitterness.

I agree. Only Jim had layers to his character, Bobby does not. He is playing the game but a little too desperately. He took the high road with Farrah until he heard the crowd chants. Now he is essentially working for a bunch of scrubbers and not being true to himself.

I kinda want to see if the mask slips. You're right, he did treat Farrah as a heckler (again, she probably deserved it!), someone detached from him and his situation. Their conflict just doesn't feel personal and I think that's on Bobby's side.

It's interesting now that he's been in a little fight with James/Austin. I really hope they show that tonight, because the aftermath on the website vids and the live feed was fascinating. I feel I can't put the whole picture together until we have that missing piece of the actual incident. But everything from almost mimicking Janice by playing the experience card, to speaking to James like he was his dad about his friendship with Austin (essentially, he's a bad influence and you'll come crying to me when he's gone), to staggering up when he was obviously half asleep as soon as James/Austin got out of bed & went to the kitchen. I'd love to see more of how he is with Sherrie & Gail too. I suspect again, an underlying patriarchal control.

I like Booby, simply for the fact he told Farrah his truth. He had every right to do it, it was HIS nomination and his opinion.
